You mean the one that was a Pulitzer Prize finalist?
It only "sounds like" that to you because you're a demented knee-jerk liberal. As I've said several times already, the book also discusses the abuse of slaves. ILA is right.... anything that doesn't paint the subject in a complete all-good and all-bad manner is completely unacceptable to liberals, no matter how well researched and well-accepted it is by the academic community.
I've read quite a bit on the subject, including the self-hating southern liberal bible "The Mind of the South", written by a mentally ill liberal who wound up taking his own life; W.J. Cash.
Your other colonies...And who was buying them?
Yeah, they also had cotton. What's your point?
None of that means it was legal there for men to run around raping whomever they pleased for 400 years.
Your other colonies...
Wow! You sure told *ME*.![]()
White men were never convicted of rape because rape was punishable by the death penalty. And no white man was executed for rape in the South, so even by the 1970s when they were being charged with rape and they were being convicted of rape they were simply given the "mercy clause" by the jury and their sentencing was left up to the judge. Rape was basically for black men and white women, since no one cared if a black man or a white man raped a black woman. And the penalty for rape was death. What part of this is so hard for you to understand? Crack a book, dude and learn something. So far all you have shown is how stupid you are.
Something that I've already pointed out. Actually you should know that Dantes is really two people with Darla taking the East Coast shift and Prakosh taking the West Coast. Anything at this time is Prakosh. I remeber SJJ saying this and not believing him when he said there were two different writing styles, but he is right though.
This is an intriguing side note is this where you got the idea for your list of books, mister book cracker, or is it just mister cracker?

Coincidence or confluence or just plain serendipity! You make the call. I can't believe it myself. It must just be one of those uncanny freaky things that happen now and again!
And if a white man raped a white woman, you're saying there was "no harm, no foul", and everyone just went home?
Really, are you this dumb?
The court records speak for themselves, all you have is disbelief! The book you keep trumpeting here says that the greatest punishment was social ostracism. Maybe that's how they handled the rape of white women by white men or maybe they always just blamed it on a black man or maybe it didn't matter because white women had no rights. I see you haven't even bothered to read the essay I posted or you wouldn't be saying this stupid shit here! Crack a book you can't even read a short essay!
You're a real detective and taking the word of SJJ on anything is pure lunacy. Best stick to your icepuppet persona and keep getting emails from your rat-raising research assistant hillbilly goat farmer telling you every move to make. Because when it comes to detection, Sherlock Holmes you're not!
But here, the claim could be easily disproved by the mods. And I'd ask them to do it, except that it makes no difference. Tom constantly makes wild claims. When disproved, he either has a buttboy erase the thread (if it's one he started), and if it's on someone else's thread he simply continues on to his next wild claim as if nothing had ever happened.
He's a shameless old gossiping woman. At this point, I highly doubt anyone pays any attention to his latest wild claim, and if there is anyone who does; they're stupid.
If you knew the subject, you'd know they're probably the two most frequently used books on the subject in college history courses.
Nor is "Southern Honor" necessarily a "Conservative" book, despite what those on this forum are attempting to spin it as. It is recognized as historically valid by academics.
I was actually hoping you would jump in on this, thanks for your input!

I sometimes wonder what planet you people reside on. I know it's not earth. Here on planet earth this still happens.
So where are these court records of yours that say no white man was ever convicted of rape for 400 years in the south?
"Maybe"? If Ashley Wilkes raped Scarlett O'Hara, you seriously think old Gerald O'Hara would have been satisfied with "social ostracizing"?
Your essay is about slavery, which does not refer to no southern man being convicted of rape for 400 years.
