'Good Guy With a Gun' Stops Mall Shooting, but Shooters Identity is SHOCKING
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It seems as though a Christmas Eve mall shooting has been successfully stopped by a ‘good guy with a gun.’
Apparently a dispute broke out between 18 year-old Daquan Antonio Westbrook, and several other young adults.
At about 2 p.m., shots rang out only 30 feet outside of Northlake Mall’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods. Justin Wallace who witnessed the shooting stated, “I thought someone dropped something. It was extremely loud. Didn’t think anything of it. You don’t think gunshots. But then I heard a rapid fire. Once hearing that, there was no mistaking it. It sounded like someone was unloading a clip.”
Mall Valet Don Willis stated, “It was wild. I heard the first shot and I thought, ‘Wait. What was that?’ And kind of like started turning around and walking and saw this huge line of people – wave of people coming – and I thought a bomb was about to go off, and I just took off.”
That’s when an off duty police officer, Thomas Ferguson, sprang into action. Ferguson confronted Westbrook with his firearm, and Westbrook then suddenly turned the gun towards Ferguson. Ferguson fired, successfully stopping the threat. As a result, Westbrook succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Perhaps the biggest shock is that the
now deceased Westbrook is actually the rapper, ‘Donkey Cartel.’ The above video highlights his rapping about gun, knives and ‘bustin’ a cap.’ His mix tape, ‘Convicted Felon With a weapon,’ shows him in a prison cell wearing an orange jumpsuit as he makes gang signs.

Officer Ferguson has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending outcome of the investigation. Chief Kerr Putney of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department stated, “That is part of the investigation. The good thing about this case is that there are a lot of witnesses.”
Despite the fact that Ferguson just so happened to be an off duty police officer is irrelevant. This serves as yet another instance of a ‘good guy with a gun’ stopping a bad guy with a gun.
