12 Things You Should Know About Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan

Mitt Romney has picked as his running mate 42 year-old Republican Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI), the architect of the GOP budget, which the New York Times has described as “the most extreme budget plan passed by a house of Congress in modern times.” Below are 12 things you should know about Ryan and his policies:

1. Ryan embraces the extreme philosophy of Ayn Rand.

2. Ryan wants to raises taxes on the middle class, cut them for millionaires.

3. Ryan wants to end Medicare, replace it with a voucher system.

4. Ryan thinks Social Security is a “ponzi scheme.”

5. Ryan’s budget would result in 4.1 million lost jobs in 2 years.

6. Ryan wants to eliminate Pell Grants for more more than 1 million students.

7. Ryan supports $40 billion in subsides for big oil.

8. Ryan has ownership stakes in companies that benefit from oil subsidies.

9. Ryan claimed Romneycare has led to “rationing and benefit cuts.”

10. Ryan believes that Romneycare is “not that dissimilar to Obamacare.”

11. Ryan accused generals of lying about their support for Obama’s military budget.

12. Ryan co-sponsored a “personhood” amendment, an extreme anti-abortion measure.

ryan never, in the clip bijou presented, compared latinos to animals.

Still lying, I see.

At the town hall a woman in the audience challenged another ex-Marine constituent who brought up the issue, then asked Ryan when he spoke about “catch and release” immigration whether he was talking about human beings or fish.

I don't think he's interested in chasing left leaning independents, Al. I think it's clear he's going to live or die by getting closer to the core values of his party.
I believe he has everyone on the right already. Sure....they're going to hold their collective noses, and vote against the negro.

Their hatred of Obama is enough to get them to the polls.

However, he needs independents to win the election, and Ryan isn't going to move them toward Romney.

Quite the contrary.

I'll be waiting to see what the GOP masses think of Ryan's voting record in support of gay rights. I was an advocate for the Employee Non-Discrimination Act in 2007. He was quoted as saying "They [his gay friends] didn't roll out of bed one morning and choose to be gay. That's who they are."

So your "good choice" for VP believes gays were born that way? How will you ever live that down?

I think it is a good choice, it shows he is fiscally conservative and moderate on social issues.

In reality, he's neither. Fiscal conservatism is not the same thing as wanting low taxes. And I don't know of any actual moderates on social issues that support a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and that co-sponsored a bill that would grant the full panoply of constitutional rights to fertilized eggs. But that's just me.

That was one vote. He later changed his mind when he realized he could pander to the teabaggers.

Here's the HRC ranking of him:
Ryan's Record: At a Glance

Opposed Open Military Service for Gays and Lesbians

Ryan voted against repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell in December 2010

Supported Workplace Protections for Gays and Lesbians… After He Tried to Kill Them

Ryan voted for a sexual orientation-only version of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) in 2007, but only after voting for a procedural mechanism (a “motion to recommit”) that would have killed the bill

Voted Against Federal Hate Crimes Legislation Again, and Again, and Again…

Ryan repeatedly voted against hate crimes legislation in 2000, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009

Supported Writing Discrimination into the U.S. Constitution

Ryan voted twice for an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ban marriage equality nationwide, including overturning state marriage equality laws, in 2004 and 2006

Attacked LGBT Families in D.C.

Ryan voted to prohibit local funding for the District of Columbia domestic partner registry in 2001
Ryan voted to prohibit same-sex couples from adopting in the District of Columbia in 1999

Voted to Unnecessarily Reaffirm the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA)

Ryan voted three times in the current Congress to restate DOMA, which is already the law and is being enforced by the Administration.

His score on the HRC's Congressional Scorecard is consistently 0%, except for 110th Congress rating when he received a score of 10%. Learn more about Paul Ryan’s anti-LGBT votes via HRC’s Congressional Scorecards.

Why lie, Yurt? That was merely a proposal from over two months ago. Never became an executive order and certainly wasn't secret. What this eventually became was Obama's executive order a couple of days later on the DREAM Act.

The draft policy also might help those trying to enter the country legally at a port of entry who may have some red flags with past immigration violations. The new guidelines could let officers look past some minor problems.

The memo said factors agents and officers could consider would include “the alien’s immigration and criminal history; claims of family, business or property ownership, ties to the community and educational background; likelihood that the alien will be granted temporary or permanent status or other relief from removal; an alien’s age and health (both physical and mental), as well as the age and health (both physical and mental) of alien’s immediate relatives; whether the alien is in the U.S. military or is the dependent of such a service member; and the alien’s length or presence in the United States and the circumstances of his/her arrival in the United States.”

There's enough if's, and's or but's in there to decorate a fucking cake. sheesh!

Is it a "policy" if it hasn't even been implemented yet? Two quotes from the article you cited state it hasn't even been implemented yet.

"The document...shows the CBP and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are seriously considering implementing a policy..."

"This policy, if eventually implemented..."

How can Senators call out Obama for a "policy" that hasn't even been implemented yet?

What's that?

You mean someone ELSE caught Yurt playing fast and loose with the facts?

How can it be? Yurt says he NEVER lies?

proof howey is a liar (from my link):

Specifically, a source familiar with the presser told The Daily Caller, they’ll likely focus on a secret internal U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) memo that – if eventually implemented into policy – would allow its agents to catch and release “low priority” illegal immigrants.

Right there you did.

NOWHERE in your one sentence post, post #33, did you say the policy "might be implemented."

Come on...lie your ass out of this one...it's always fun to watch.
