'God gave us Trump': Christian media evangelicals preach a messianic message

Exactly. I wonder if these prosperity preachers skip over Matthew 19:21 in their homilies.

"Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”

Saint Paul, Acts:33-35
I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' ”

NEW YORK (Reuters) - "This is really a battle between good and evil," evangelical TV preacher Hank Kunneman says of the slew of criminal charges facing Donald Trump. "There's something on President Trump that the enemy fears: It's called the anointing."

The Nebraska pastor, who was speaking on cable news show "FlashPoint" last summer, is among several voices in Christian media pressing a message of Biblical proportions: The 2024 presidential race is a fight for America's soul, and a persecuted Trump has God's protection.

"They're just trying to bankrupt him. They're trying to take everything he's got. They're trying to put him in prison," author, media personality and self-proclaimed prophet Lance Wallnau said in October on "The Jim Bakker Show", an hour-long daily broadcast that focuses on news and revelations about the end times that it says we are living in.

"The hand of God is on him and he cannot be stopped."

In both the 2016 and 2020 elections, evangelical voters staunchly supported Trump despite claims of adultery and sexual misconduct, which he denied.

With Trump now facing dozens of criminal charges as he pursues a second term, some Christian media are bolstering his support by portraying him as an instrument of God's will who faces persecution by his foes.

While the people making these claims are largely outside the mainstream in Christian media, they have amassed significant online followings and their messages reverberate across radio shows, cable TV and streaming platforms that reach millions of Americans every day.

The claims that Trump benefits from divine help present a jarring counterpoint to the views voiced by his critics, who denounce him as an immoral grifter set on dismantling democracy and point to his inflammatory rhetoric about immigrants in the country illegally and opponents he has threatened to prosecute.

The former president's myriad legal woes include allegations of sexual abuse and financial chicanery. In May, a jury decided Trump must pay $5 million in damages for sexually abusing a magazine writer in the 1990s and then branding her a liar. He is also facing a criminal trial on charges he covered up hush-money payments to a porn star. He has denied wrongdoing in both cases.

The barrage of legal actions have broadly served to rev up Trump's support among Republicans rather than diminish it, according to a July Reuters/Ipsos poll.

The roughly 80 million Americans who describe themselves as born-again or evangelical Protestants - about a quarter of the population - have provided the bedrock for his meteoric rise, and their turnout levels this November could prove critical in a tight contest against Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Trump was the first atheist president in a long time. He did not go to church or read the bible. He was and is a carouser even while married, ignoring his marriage vows. He admitted to grabbing women by the pussy. He is a terrible father with no time for family.
The evangelicals are like Trump. They are pretend religious duping people out of their money. They amass incredible wealth and never have enough.
It is no problem seeing why evangelical leaders like Trump. They are cut from the same fake religious cloth.

Republicans on this board don't even bother to deny or protest when Trump is called their Tangerine Messiah.

Trump is a terrible person. He has been married 3 times, cheating on every wife multiple times. He lies as he exhales. He has not been to a church nor read the bible. He has cheated people who worked for him because he could get away with it. He is quite likely a huge money launderer. He has had many business failures. He wants to be president of a country he refuses to pay taxes for. No Trump has ever served in the armed forces.
God did not choose Trump. The billionaires did so they could get more tax cuts and fewer regulations. Most of them are disgusted by Trump. But Trump is on board for creating the plutocracy they want.

Because its so childish and stupid to even say. I rarely respond to that kind of silly jibberish,.....no point in it. Tangerine Messiah sounds like something a little kid would say. Just dumb.

No, the fact that you spend years pouring your heart and soul into defending an unethical immoral sleazebag, when there were other conservatives with better integrity and character you could have supported, clearly shows there is a dimension of devotion and worship to your relentless servitude to your Tangerine Messiah.

God must be very angry with America. Quick, to the volcano! Someone bring a virgin to sacrifice!!

Not only do they amass Earthly possessions, they changed their flavor of Christianity to make it okay to be greedy, in direct contradiction to Jesus's teachings. They call it "prosperity" Christianity. If you send your money to make its leaders wealthy, some of that will trickle down on you.

God uses imperfect men to do His will. Trump is just one of them

 :rofl2:

Fascinating. So God wants you all to cheat on your spouses, your taxes, your coworkers and underlings? He wants you to hate those of other races, languages, nationalities, religions? He wants you to skip church and ignore Jesus's teachings? He wants you to bully and brag and bluster? Can you explain to us, Reverend Quackter, why your God would favor one particular country over another? Why would your God prefer a leader like Trump who exemplifies all the ugly humanity is capable of, over a God-fearing church-going man like President Biden?

You have no idea what your God wants. You just make it up to justify your worship of the AntiChrist.
