The company is hoping the move will increase sales. The 2014 model of the plug-in car will now cost about $35,000 — more than 12 percent less than last year's model. Ford and Nissan have already reduced the prices on their electric cars.

(Cawacko, there is an audio version on the link, in case you are interested. No big words for you to have to try to sound out)

I'd consider a Volt if the price was in the mid to high 20's and with the generous tax credit. I don't drive a lot of high mileage but the total cost to own just doesn't work out at this price point.

Welcome to the free market bitches.

Hell, GM already wasn't making a profit on the damn things at what they were charging before. Pretty soon they will be screaming for another bailout and the taxpayers can lose even more money.

God liberals are stupid

Different parameters this time Mott. You can't compare the monthly cost of ownership between the two, Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vs electric.

That's right because if you did and you took away the tax credit (read welfare for snotty rich people) nobody would not buy the fucking things.

This is what is so priceless about the GM Volt. Libs come on here crying and bitching and moaning about "tax cuts for the rich" and how the "poor are getting fucked". Yet, they have no problem for a "tax credit" for a car that no poor person will ever buy. It is just a tax credit for rich, snooty liberals trying to prove a point that they care about the environment.

So whenever you hear a lib complain about tax cuts for the rich, ask them when they will end the Volt tax credit. That oughta shut em up

Um, no most "rich" people are not spending well under 30K for a car, though smart ones would since it is a gem of good design. Truly wealthy people, if so inclined, would simply buy the Tesla, with it's 300 mile per charge range, and truly carbon neutral footprint if the electricity used to charge it is from a renewable source.

Combined with a modest photovoltaic system, and average Americans driving habits, Most Volt driver's would have no fuel expense whatsover, except on long distance drives.

Lots of IFs there sporto.

If Obama weren't a shit heel we would have had a decent recovery. You keep clinging to failed ideas. Electric cars were shit when Edison was peddling them. They are shit now.

So how many do you own?

Do you offer any proof of your claim?

Electric cars were preferable during Edison's time, and they are eve more preferable now.

lol...If congress wasn't a bunch of shit heels they would have worked with the President to create a more robust recovery...but you can't explain that to someone who's brain dead like ILA.
