What's your solution then? There is no doubt that human activity pollutes the environment and that we can pollute less if we choose to. Even if you don't care about the planet, there is no question that our present energy sources will no longer exist someday.
On clean energy it's natural gas to nuclear supported by hydrogen and/or anhydrous ammonia. These are practical and can meet our current and future energy needs at a low price. Solar and wind are utterly complete losers.
Natural gas, unlike the materials going into solar cells and wind turbines is very renewable. Nuclear is also renewable to a degree by using breeder reactors to make more fuel. Nuclear also produces a tiny fraction of the waste that solar panels and wind turbines do, and with reprocessing that can be cut down even further.
