Conservative talk radio host Glenn Beck blasted FBI director James Comey for disclosing the bureau’s ongoing investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server, calling the move “one of the most irresponsible things to ever happen.”
Beck discussed the ongoing email saga throughout his radio show Monday, repeatedly calling Clinton corrupt and objectively unfit to become president. But he also criticized Comey’s decision to announce a continued probe into Clinton’s private email server before determining whether the material is significant, arguing the director’s move could “destroy her career.”
“For him to go for the subpoena and announce it and open this thing up when he says he doesn’t know if there’s even anything in those emails, that’s too big of a risk of anyone’s career—and not his, hers,” Beck said.
Beck said if Comey actually believed Clinton lacked the intent to mishandle classified information when he declined to press charges in July, Comey should not “open an investigation and announce it—without any real evidence—and destroy her career.’
“You change the course of the country, you change the course of this person’s life,” Beck continued. “This is one of the most irresponsible things to ever happen, if it is indeed true that he doesn’t have any evidence.”
