Cousins marrying was never a religious 'thing'... it sprang from the Progressive Era.


Rudy and his first wife were second cousins not first cousins. ... their marriage was legal in New York and still would be today, as it would be in every other state in the union.

This is really not nearly as unusual or sick as the idiot OP wants to make it out to be. Lots of people would find cousin marriages in their family trees if they were ed to look, especially if they descend from families in isolated communities!
