Anti-Wall Street protesters in Oakland have vandalized a Whole Foods store and shattered windows at two downtown banks.

Windows were shattered at a Bank of America branch, where someone also spraypainted "Class War" and "Shut it Down," near Lake Merritt and a Chase bank at 20th and Webster streets.

Police officers on Wednesday afternoon stood outside the Chase bank, where vandals also defaced the ATM machines, spraypainting them black. Read more at LATimes.com.

I must have missed this stuff when the Tea Party protesters were rioting and destroying property.....

The Liberals must be scambling for something to refute or explain this; because it's been around an hour and there's been no commnets from any of them.
The Democrat party must not have E-mailed out the necessary responses yet. :)

Maybe it's just me, but i do have a hard time picturing Barack Obamas, sitting on a big stack of envelopes stuffed full of cash from big financial types, suddenly morphing into V.I. Lenins.

In the first video (0:25) was that a special spray gun the guy was using? I bet those are going to become popular.

As for the riots put them into perspective. When people were out of money and hungry in France they chopped off the heads of those who didn't share. Look at Libya and other nations. Thousands killed. Perhaps it's time people opened their eyes. Hungry, disadvantaged people can get downright unruly.

This isn't France, no matter how much you want to be European, and people living in $300K homes are hardly disadvantaged or hungry.

Do you know if they've lost their job?

What you're unable to grasp is it's not about hating the wealthy. It's about fairness. Why would someone who worked for a "company" that required a bail-out (in other words was bankrupt) receive millions of dollars in bonuses?

How many of those folks who live in $300 homes have businesses and can't get loans and are struggling to stay afloat while banks and investment houses are receiving financial help?

Do try to comprehend.

When Obama "handed out" those bail outs, was it part of the deal that their be no bonuses.?
Was their a requirement that the company's were not to live up to the contrancts that were negotiated?

You suggested that the protesters were hungry and from what I've seen, they look pretty well fed to me.
And if they're broke, why are they buy paint; that is used to deface businesses?

As others have stated the protesters are protesting for systemic change. Also, the bailouts were started by Bush. In other words there needs to be change regardless of who is responsible.

OH, so that justifies the destruction of property.
It doesn't matter if there was a sale or not, if they were hungry they should have bought food.
Did you forget about your admission of making a family move, selling the place they were living in; just so you could make money?

I never forced a family to move. The couple were offered the opportunity to purchase the building before I did and both worked so they could have afforded it. I mean it was CHEAP. How cheap? They could have lived rent-free. The other apartments would have paid the mortgage. They preferred to rent and they had moved apartments in the building not long before I purchased it so it's reasonable to conclude the security of ownership was not a priority for them. And when I purchased it I didn't move in either.

Come to think of it I was a really nice guy! :)

Actually,no. I was moving 20 miles away so I would be an absent landlord and that's not good. When I purchased the building I was living on the next block.

See, I told you I was a great guy. :)
 
Truth be told, class Warfare has been waged long before #OWS. The rich have been taking home the largest piece of the pie in this country since Reagan's first day in office.
The income inequality is at it's highest point since the Great Depression. That's mostly due to tax cuts for the wealthy. Tax cuts funnel profits to the upper tier of the earners in this
country which in affect decimates the middle class.

Well except from all reports on both the right and left these folks aren't starving, not by a long shot. Their salaries and home values are way above the norm. Every indication is that it's an 'elite war.' Little and grand elites.

It's a war over fairness. How can a CEO/Executive receive a bonus of millions when the company he worked for went bankrupt? Can anyone possibly say he earned that money?

It doesn't make any difference whether a person earns $20,000/yr or $200,000/yr. It's a fairness war not a class war.

Unless one is able to check on their properties regularly or have someone who will the properties deteriorate. You have to remember I was a slumlord. If one didn't keep in regular communication with the tenants, kept a eye on things, problems arose.
