Check the history of that district. The Republican has won the Congressional seat by an average of 30+ % every single election - for decades.

It's as solid red as a district can get. The fact that Trump won by 1% there shows that he IS unpopular - but Congressional elections still tend to be local.

i remember in the 2016 election there was speculation georgia would turn blue. Now all the democrats say they never had a shot and just felt like pissing away 50 million : )

Dems were clearly wrong on both counts - but that doesn't change the fact that Georgia is a solidly red state, and that the 6th has been as consistently red a district as there is in the country.

As someone who wants Trump kept in check, I was bummed that they couldn't pull off the upset, but it's probably the best thing that could have happened. I am absolutely good w/ you & the rest of the Trump crowd falling into complacency based on a special election in GA & thinking that it has larger ramifications for '18 and beyond.

actually georgia did the opposite. The reason the rest of the races were close is because republicans were complacent. Without the national coverage in GA the democrats would probably have won.
