George Will speaks truth to his party

So?

Your attempt at making some kind of point is still weak.

If a conservative is honest, we will give that conservative their due.

Unfortunately, honesty out of conservatives is a rare occurrence.

I like George Will and I like what he has to say about Trump but liberals acting like they respect true conservatives now is transparent.

A simple google search will find what liberals think of Will and it's not very complimentary.

They don't think he is stupid. And he was beloved by his own party as their preeminent public intellectual. Now he is loathed by the power in the Republican party, and yet he hasn't changed his views a bit. The Republican brand has gone off the reservation, a mashup of Jerry Springer program and John Birch Society.

They don't respect "true conservative," they respect certain humans who are intelligent. George is one.

Who is acting like that?

I never said I respect "true conservatives" because I don't.

AAMOF, nobody including conservatives even know what a "true conservative" is.

According to the definition most people who CONSIDER THEMSELVES to be "true conservative", it means being a bile spitting right wing ideologue who's too thick headed to accept compromise for the good of the country.

I don't know and I don't care. Afaic, "true conservative" just means asshole.

I just wanted to give Will an attaboy for mustering up the integrity to speak truthfully about the current Republican party.

Does character matter?

no it doesn't. if you got your way we wouldn't have had gorsuch. we would have got some blue haried dyke with hairy armpits appointed and then declaring it unconstitutional to assume someones gender. i get not liking trump but i don't get not caring about the supreme court to have it fucked up the A for 30 years. liberals do not believe in the constitution, they cannot get on the bench.

You don't think any of the other primary candidates would have nominated Gorsuch?

I'm still shocked Trump selected someone as strong as Gorsuch. Trump's a guy who thought Kelo was a wonderful decision. Now maybe populists agree with him on that but not conservatives.

Well we have been betrayed before

There's are several reasons I voted for Trump.

One of the big ones is I was totally 'over it' with the kind of republicans George Will would approve of. No way, would illegal immigration be down 60% under any other republican in the last primary. I doubt we'd see the same jobs or economic number. We may or may not have Gorsuch, because you can't trust Jeb! and the rest of them.

I've watched too republicans fold up like cheap tents when faced with *a fraction* of the heat Trump takes from the leftist media.

I'm done with the whole lot of them and I would absolutely vote for Trump, again. And I absolutely will again.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, George.

Kelo is the most fucked-up decision handed down in my lifetime. It was the realization of everything I used to hear Neal Boortz rant about on the radio.

If you are a fan of Douchebag Donald, then, clearly you have never believed in conservative values, and character means nothing to you. No other candidate would have received the level of heat that he takes, because, most human beings don't bring that much heat upon themselves. He was a professional media storm before he ran for office, so, I don't even understand how people can get so mad that he brought his profession into the White House.

Even with the left, the MSM and a significant segment of his own party working against him, Trump's results would compare favorably with any other republican I can think of.

It's results with me. I just don't care about the other stuff. History won't either.

snip.

But you also thought George Dumbya Bush was a great choice to be president, and you undoubtedly defended him with every fiber of your being.

So between Dumbya and Trump on your voting resume, I'm not sure why anyone should trust your judgement let alone care about it, concerning who makes good presidential material.

We all have different expectations for Trump's Presidency. I listened to several commercial real estate podcasts after the election that were laying out what they hoped he'd accomplish legislation wise that would help businesses. He's done almost none of it yet. We're only about seven months in so there's still time but it's probably not going to get any easier.

And you do lol?

Seriously?

Easier is the key concept.

If congressional republicans weren't as useless as tits on boar hog [the ones George Will likes] Obamacare repeal would be in the rear view mirror and we'd be debating tax reform instead.
