It's just stupid to pretend that getting doped up makes you a better driver. It's just plain idiotic to even try to portray that.

It makes your reaction time much slower.

As I said, pretending it is "good" for people to drive or "better" than alcohol while driving is just silly. It is equally bad to drive under the influence of drugs as it is to drive under the influence of alcohol.

In a recent study of patients of injury accidents drugs were present 51% of the time, only 34% tested positive for alcohol of the sample. (Study by: Michael Walsh, Ron Flegel, Randolph Atkins, Leo A. Cangianelli, Carnell Cooper, Christopher Welsh and Timothy J. Kerns, Drug and Alcohol Use Among Drivers Admitted to a Level-1 Trauma Center).

Anyway.... It is just silly to refuse to admit that there can and will be problems when we finally legalize. Driving under the influence of MJ isn't any safer than driving under the influence of alcohol, it just literally makes you stupid enough to think so while you are still under its influence. (apparently if you are a convert too)

Alcohol is water soluble and THC is fat soluble. The fact that people test positive for MJ is a joke. It stays in your fat cells for 42 days, yet people do no worse on Field sobriety tests than those who did not drink for 42 days. Of course people who smoke mj are going to test positive for it. Does not mean they are under the influence. That argument is weak.

Freaky kind of coincidence isn't it?

And yes, people who use medically and for recreation are being persecuted. That whole minimum sentence for possession and going to jail thing.

the prohibition movements were started by extreme puritans. the way to overcome marijuana prohibition is to directly analogize it to the alcohol prohibition. the racist rantings are a loser argument and turn people off. people like buffalo solder, topspin actually do more harm than good. instead of engaging in debate about it, he spews hatred and accusations of racism. yeah....that really works to change minds.

the simple fact is, marijuana is less harmful, in terms of narcotic (and alcohol is a narcotic, only we have made it a legal narcotic) effects than alcohol. it is a fact that the war on drugs has failed and that marijuana use has increased. since marijuana is the number one illegal drug, it has enabled drug lords to also offer more harmful drugs along side your marijuana sell. there is absolutely no excuse for ending alcohol prohibition and not ending marijuana prohibtion.

Strictly speaking, neither are narcotics. Narcotics are drugs and substances derived from Opium. No it's not very important in this discussion, but I like to nit-pick. And once again, I agree that prohibiting it does nothing to help anyone but criminals.

I'm aware. Top stated that they were originally based on racism, which I defended. Today it's about the status quo and allowing the government more free reign in controlling your life.
