Gaza Strip follies;

Australia is not part of the UK? Since when.

Look Tommy, you want to rush to the defense of a Nazi Dog, then that kinds of cements my description of you as an ex-pat National Front minded Brit in the foreign land of an authoritarian. Carry on.

You truly are a fucking moron, totally beyond salvation.

Is going through Israel's border the only way into and out of Gaza?

Obviously not the only way in & out of Gaza as evidenced by the thousands of rockets Hamas fired at Israel....which seems to be as those thousands of Christiananality pedophilia attacks on the USA....

Every time I nail Tommy to the wall and he can't logically or factually defend his stance, dear readers, this is standard retort. Sad, but not unexpected.

Ahh, but does that justify creating the ghetto & apartheid conditions for the Palestinians? They are NOT above criticism. And as I said before, war is for the desperate, the arrogant and the stupid. Seems all three labels are in play on both sides here. Sad.

The Palestinians created their own ghetto. They choose Hamas, a terrorist group to lead their government.

They are reaping what they sowed.

As your article points out....they have no power, a sort of patronization on the part of the Israeli gov't to present a false image to for folks like you to grasp on an parrot.

The Apartheid situation in the Gaza strip is quite real, as the wall there attests to, as ex-President Jimmy Carter detailed in his book Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid , as the OP video demonstrates.

Would you call the U.S. post civil war "reconstruction era" ... apartheid? The southern states were divided into 5 military districts and Whites were denied the right to vote.

Apartheid is an African word for "apartness".

No it's not you fucking drongo*

* Aussie slang for moron

Well, that would be a real dumb ass move on their part. For decades the whole point of a zionist gov't was to get that land fully under control. What you say would be the equivalent of cutting off one's nose to spite their face.

Because the Jews agreed to UN Res 181, they became the only legal gov't inside the former British mandate, west of Jordan (Palestine).

Israeli won the Gaza strip from Egypt and has given it to the Palestinians. They are bad neighbors and no arab country wants them. Tel Aviv is 42 miles away on the same coast and is considered a vacation destination.

Yep, hand it over to the Gazans in 2005. One could call it the first test of a two state solution.

No, what I'm saying is the neighborly equivalent of they're going to beat the Palestinians in Gaza to within a millimeter of their lives, kill their dog and their cat, burn their house to the ground, then piss on the ashes...

That's far too subtle for Titchy, you need to pound the message home.

When I got out of the Navy in 72' my wife and I (this was before kids) spent 6 months on a kibbutz

Most people don't know the roots of Israel's communal villages movement

The word itself means "gathering" in Hebrew. Kibbutzim are a communal living situation unique to Israel. There are about 270 kibbutzim dotted across Israel.

Central to the kibbutz are roots in socialist and Marxist ideas about collective living. The early kibbutzim were exercises in radical democracy .

Kibbutzim begin to fail when their size reaches about 1100 people. Too many leeches causes the productive members to leave.

Wrong. Egypt got control of the Gaza strip from the 1948 war. Palestinians were pushed out of the new state of Israel. Israel got the land back after the 1967 Six Day war. The 1995 Peace Accord had Israel withdraw and leave the refugees and their descendants the land.

I would like to see your proof as to your statement regarding "no arab country wants them", as it is a bit misleading, given how religious differences are intense to the point of hostilities in that region of the world.

Egypt illegally annexed Gaza and artificially created its borders.

Palestinians were not pushed out. Some fought and some voluntarily fled the battle zones created by the illegal Egyptian invasion of the mandate.

False. The 1995 peace accord never settled borders and was quickly broken by the PLO.

What Muslim countries want the Gazan refugees? They can easily send ships to pick them up on the seaboard.

Ahh, but you fail to mention that the civil war in Jordan between Hashemites and the PLO (and it's more radical off shoot the PFLP) after the Six Day War, if memory serves correctly (if not, let me know). To me, it's a rather absurd conflict of religious ideologies, but then again more people in the world have been killed in the name of religion than anything else.

IMHO, there's plenty of blame to go around. HAMAS essentially filled a leadership vacuum...and I seriously doubt they're going to leave that mantle over a vote tally. But as I said, responses to decades of apartheid and ghetto-ization was no surprise.

And the Band played on.

The PLO was created in 64 and expelled from Jordan in 1970 (Black September). Along side the defeat of the Syrian invasion forces.

What's your point?

There were quite a few parties in the 2006 election; no vacuum. Fatah was the main opposition to Hamas.
