Gay marriage ruins it for the rest of us

My "wife" and I have been together for 36 years...and have never asked for the government's or any church's approval. We have wills to take care of the financial details when I croak...and we have no children, opting for a couple of cats instead.

The entire thought of marriage...turns me off...although I have remained true to the "commitment."

Marriage, it might be noted, is THE major cause of divorce.

Thank You, Frank. Two independent Human Beings, with the capacity of thought, determining their future, stating their status, standing as Citizens.

It's sad to see the mindless Drones here, just doing as they're told, devoid of any original thought.

One thing that surprises me, is the women. The majority seem to love the idea of their Fathers transferring 'ownership' of themselves to the Husband. It's like they know they are just Simpletons and need a Male Overseer. I'm sure in the Past, women were incapable of feeding themselves or fending for themselves, but in this day and age, you would think more women would have some kind of personal pride in themselves.

On your 'divorce' comment, I heard some Hollywood actress say she thought 'marriages' should be '5 year contracts' ... that could be renewed, or not. Interesting concept.

Yes, I know ... and the priest is still NOT party to the contract.

depends on what you mean by "contract".......the sacrament is a covenant......

by definition....
cov·e·nant
ˈkəvənənt/Submit
noun
1.
an agreement.
synonyms: contract, agreement, undertaking, commitment, guarantee, warrant, pledge, promise, bond, indenture; More

Sounds like you are saying a 'contract' is a 'covenant' is an 'agreement' is a 'contract'. Is that what your circular statement is or am I missing something?

Isn't the Priest (or whoever) like a Notary Public? Someone that is a 'third party' and 'witnesses' the 'Agreement'?

Covenant is just another word for contract.. and the priest still isn't party to the contract.

Happy Independence Day!

That's right.

An Agreement is a contract.............

A contract is a code.

Writing code is called "Programming"

De-programming is to release (someone) from apparent brainwashing, typically that of a cult, by the systematic reindoctrination of conventional values.

Two like genders can enter into some sort of "contract" or "union" and I can not see where that would bother anyone.

But they can not be married, that's just silly
