The only politician I've ever donated money too. Can't believe I did that. Gavin has eyes on the White House so winning this Governor's race is obviously very important to him. What a scum bag though, sleeping with your best friends wife. Who does that? (obviously a rhetorical question)
Poll: Gavin Newsom's lead evaporating in California governor race
It appears that former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is continuing to eat away at Lieutenant Gov. Gavin Newsom's lead in the 2018 California governor race.
A poll released earlier this week by the Public Policy Institute of California found that Newsom still leads the field with 23 percent of the vote, but Villaraigosa, who
came in second place with 18 percent, has cut Newsom's lead to just five percentage points.
In a similar poll conducted in early November, Newsom held a 10-point lead over Villaraigosa, a lead that was already down from a 16-point advantage Newsom held in a September poll.
Democratic State Treasurer John Chiang and Republican businessman John Cox tied for third place in the PPIC poll with nine percent each.
Republican State Assemblyman Travis Allen came in fifth with six percent, and former California Superintendent of Public Instruction Delaine Eastin came in sixth with three percent.
The poll also found that incumbent Dianne Feinstein maintains a commanding lead in the Senate race over primary challenger Kevin de León, 45 percent to 21 percent.
Much to the surprise of PPIC President Mark Baldassare, 33 percent of the poll's participants were undecided.
"It seems high to me, especially in the Senate race when you have an incumbent running," Baldassare told the LA Times.
The full results of the poll can be found here.
