For the record, I oppose what she did. It's over the top gross and stupid to kill the potus in effigy, as some unstable people out there will take that as license and also it desensitizes everyone to vile shit like this. Further, Trumps death by any unnatural cause would martyr him to his knuckleheaded cult disciples. I'd hate to see him create a false legacy. He needs to fail on his own and become an anti-fascism cautionary tail for the ages. Trump should leave office in disgrace, a total failure and they should have sections in every civil rights or tolerance museum in the country about him as an emblem of the USA's near slide into a dark chapter of American fascism.
I am not taking sides in your argument, but you are comparing some knucklehead burning an effigy to a long time celebrity (I know, I spit my coffee out when I wrote that)and often times CNN host. One person is a nobody, the other makes front page news. Do they really even compare when asking why people didn't condemn the acts?
Kathy knew this was over the top, over the line, or whatever you want to call it. She knew this would rub people the wrong way. That's her shtick. Her apology is that it caused people to be this upset, not that she did it. It's what her act entails. She's edgy! She's supposed to rub you the wrong way and you're supposed to say Ha! that's absurd. The photo is exactly this concept. She's well dressed and looking proper and seemingly she's just committed a violent act. Ironically absurd, right! Ha ha ha ha. Give us more!

Well said. I didn't lose any sleep over the act because it is what it is. Just spare me the i'm into violence riot act being read yesterday because I'm a Republican. People from all walks of life and political beliefs do crazy and dumb sh*t.

Comedians walk the line of what's socially acceptable, and occasionally cross it. That's what a comedian does. It's their job. A good comedian knows how to walk the line, a bad comedian can't.

Some icons in the world of comedy were basically that - they pushed the envelope and took the big risks, and achieved legendary status as a result.
The thing is, you have to actually be clever to pull that off. It's really hard to gauge what she was even thinking w/ this, aside from "this'll shock 'em!" Just mindless.
