At $2.45 that's still fifty cents less than it was under Trump when it was at $2.95 in 2018 and 2019.

It is also less than it was one year ago when it was at $2.53 under Trump.

We can clearly see that the were higher under Trump so if Presidents control gas prices as you allege there is no reason to think Trump would cause lower gas prices since for much of his term the gas prices were above the current price you are complaining about. And that is without inflation adjustment.
