gas prices explode overnight - $4.19/gallon

Especially, when there is the gas free luxury of ordering DDash, AMzon and Instantcart home delivery or working at home to which a laptop does not use gas but bits and bytes, etc. All of this hoopla over oil prices in the U.S., apparently ignoramuses who were probably not born at realizing this is not the first time the U.S. issue with supply, demand and issues with the reasons crude oil prices were on a roller coaster ride as in what makes oil prices so volatile. Well, here are the reasons why:

Oil Price History—Highs and Lows Since 1970

Oil prices in the 20th century remained stable, in real terms, until the 1970s. Since then, political, economic, and other changes have rocked the oil landscape. In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic sent prices plummeting. In 2022, the Russia-Ukraine conflict caused prices to skyrocket.

Why Oil Prices Are Volatile
Since the 1970s, oil prices have become more volatile. They're affected by more than the laws of supply and demand. Oil prices are determined in the short run by oil futures contracts on the commodities markets. This means that in the short run, commodities traders can also affect oil prices. They can drive prices up even if they only think there will be a surge in demand, such as during the summer driving season. They can lower prices if they think there will be a dropoff in demand. That usually occurs as demand falls in the winter."

Perhaps it's advisable to seriously consider other forms of energy as fuel, and the possibilities are obviously there but have not been supported as a result of greed, corruption and ignorance.

His Ukraine response has been textbook.

I think people are grateful that we have someone who knows how to work w/ NATO & our allies in a situation like this. He's been a world leader in this response....

I'm sorry, I can't take that statement seriously, he has led from behind the entire time! Putin knew he would be weak, and simply waited for a weak leader, one who made us reliant on his oil, to take action against Ukraine!

i've been severely limiting red meat, the occasional hamburger when I get a craving. now I think i'l going to do more egg whites, rice and beans
( complementary amino acids create protein of you eat them together) but in not a vegetarian-
humans are omnivores and greek yogurt cooking stuff like that

My Russian neighbor owns a trucking company.
He said he's got some loads leaving from CA where diesel is $6.50 a gallon

This was the long term goal for net zero people, this may have been done purposely to get us there, one thing is for sure, liberals applaud the hurt it puts on the middle class, trying to force them into electric cars they can't afford, which in the long run will do nothing!

THat Western leaders are so infantile as climate change/decarbonizing was a bonus, he was not going to put up with what the West has been doing in Ukraine in any case.

Nope. Putin was hoping Trump would get a 2nd term, so he could withdraw the U.S. from NATO and do Putin's work for him.

Indeed.

Those delivery trucks, trains, airplanes don’t have windmills on them.

Trains can be run on electricity entirely...alternative fuel sources for the combustion engine are ALWAYS given the short funded research by our Big Oil lobbies in Congress.

As to the current fuel yo-yo at the gas pump.....google "Wall Street speculation", do the honest & objective research, then get back to us.

Just so we're clear....are you suggesting that if Dump were put back in office this wouldn't have happened?

No, I am saying that our infant leaders have betrayed America and as a result BIG PAIN is here.

I have been hard on the alarms for years.

I did my part.

Fair enough. Although, I dare say Jimmy Carter did his part for trying to change things in this respect...and got lambasted for it.

Then you would be wrong, given the factual history. Observe: https://www.factcheck.org/2022/02/factchecking-trumps-cpac-speech-3/

No I wouldn't. Biden has fucked away and fucked up on every major issue he's been a part of for the last 40 + years. The guy has a track record of being wrong. I see your one sycophantic op ed writer and raise you six.

It was former Defense Secretary Robert Gates who said of Joe Biden in his book Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War: “I think he’s been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the last four decades.” During the last presidential campaign, Margaret Brennan of CBS’s Face the Nation pressed Gates on that statement. She also asked, “Would he be an effective commander-in-chief?” Gate’s answer: “I don’t know. I don’t know. I—I think I stand by that statement.” What a disconcerting assessment by a stalwart American leader who has such credibility when it comes to foreign policy.

Biden's fucked up like a soup sandwich. He was an intellectual midget even before he became senile.
