Gas down $1.58, give Obama credit?

The US president has ZERO control over world oil prices...and little control over domestic gas prices outside of the gasoline tax.....

A US president can and does influence the domestic economy through numerous tax and economic policies....effecting jobs, wages, interest rates and borrowing practices, etc....and this particular president has more control than any other president considering the fact that he has, to a degree, nationalized banking, part of the auto industry, and is trying to take control over the insurance, medical and health-care industry's....a government power grab of enormous proportion

Did I say a U.S. President had control over domesitc gas prices....? By the way I disagree that the U.S. President cant affect the price of gas, I just never said that until now!

To your second part... he has control within 6 months of being inagurated?

After 8 years of Bush being president June gas prices were $1.58 higher than June gas prices after only 6 months under Presidnet Obama.

Does all that extra language make you feel better...

That makes no sense because even you know you aren't being honest. You are trying to twist the words to match meaning of what you want the numbers to say, but the numbers don't say it. How about try to get another Democrat to come on this thread and back up what you are saying.

I missed that, he didn't write that.
This is getting funnier by the moment

I do not belive that just because someone agrees or not has any bearing on if I am correct or not. If someone agrees with me it does not make me more correct.

Now, comparing June numbers to June numbers is a perfectly acceptable method of comparison. Its done in economics all the time!

Have your sec. explain my post to you...you obviously don't understand English very well....

A president can and does affect the domestic price of gas by domestic taxing and regulation policies.....and has little, to no control over the world price of oil....

and as we have said you twit... we agree that it is how you compare the numbers. But that doesn't change the fact that you continued to argue that those numbers somehow mean gas prices went down under Obama. THAT is the moronic portion of your argument.

He won't say what it is that Obama has done.
As far as I know he recinded Bush's allowing drilling on off the east and west coast.
If anything that action would restrict future supply and thus put upward pressure on price.

Its not that I dont understand, this may be a shock to you, but I disagree!

June to June numbers are down $1.58. I know you dont want to admit it, I know it makes your world crumble... but its true!

I dont belive President Obama's policies have effected the economy yet, just as I dont belive his policies have affected the price of oil, yet.

6 months ???? actually within 6 minutes of taking office under the right circumstances....
Even the rumor of a president that wants a tax increase on oil companies, will cause the domestic price of gas to skyrocket.....overnight

I do belive that fear of regulation, investigations into price gouging, and a government responsive to anger of its people affects the price of oil.
