5. The Statute of Limitations Expired on Some Charges

Shapley and Ziegler previously told Congress that prosecutors intentionally slowed the Hunter Biden investigation in order for the statute of limitations to run out on some of the earlier crimes he's been accused of committing.

On Wednesday, Shapley said Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney Davis Weiss, who oversaw Hunter Biden's case, allowed the statute of limitations to expire on charges related to income he received while serving on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.

"In November of 2022, the statute of limitations was set to expire for the 2014 and 2015 charges in D.C., which included the 2014 felonies for the attempt to evade or defeat tax and fraud or false statement regarding Burisma income earned by Hunter Biden," Shapley said.

He added, "The statute of limitations had been extended through a tolling agreement with Hunter Biden's defense counsel, and they were willing to extend it past 2022. Weiss allowed those to expire."


Now Weiss is the Special Counsel.

The Committee has now identified over $20 million in payments from foreign sources to the Bidens and their associates from when Biden was vice president to former President Barack Obama, including from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. 3 days ago.

This is just a DOJ ploy with two likely ideas behind it.

1. It gives them the fig leaf of "Ongoing investigation..." to dodge any and all document requests Congress / Republicans might make.

2. It gives them a reason to withdraw the plea deal while continuing to foot drag doing anything conclusive at all.

The object is likely to draw the investigation out past the 2024 election. If Joke loses, most of the Hunter thing goes away. If Joke wins, he's got four years and out, Hunter is no longer an issue to being reelected.

Only if they drop the current case and charges...

But I suspect you are correct in part. This will likely get them around the 30 days they had to respond to the judge by saying we've reopened the case. If that's so, it's just a delaying tactic to try and run the clock out.

Because there is none? Weiss asked for the powers to investigate and have more powers. But it does not matter to you. Garland gave them to him immediately. Weiss was appointed by Trump. He was held over by Biden so he could continue the investigation that Trump authorized. The Hunter court case was kept from the deal they made and then more investigations with more powers were granted. How stupid or crazy do you have to be to see ANOTHER conspiracy in Biden giving the reds everything they asked for? Lets make a prediction. The only result you will accept is Hunter and Joe in a massive payoff and a big coverup. Anything else has to be a coverup by the whole government.

Did you not hear about the slap on the wrist Hunter got for crimes that everyone else get's prison time for?

It was so lenient the judge had to refuse the deal.

Then why did Weiss testify to Congress under oath that he had full powers to investigate this matter and that a special counsel wasn't needed? Now, he's being appointed a special counsel to investigate what he claimed he didn't need special counsel powers to investigate...

The advantage of that is, the trainwreck of a deal they conjured up the first time hit a judge that cares and wouldn't rubber stamp it. They knew there was no way to fix it, so the only option was to withdraw the whole plea deal and appoint a special counsel to investigate it a second time. Of course, they appointed the liar... err, lawyer that did it the first time knowing full well he'll drag this out until after Biden leaves office if he can.

This way, if it does go back to court, they can change the venue, shop for a sympathetic judge, and get the sweetheart deal they wanted.

When it comes the Bidens, if the DOJ and defense lawyers get together to negotiate, it's really them getting together to collude.

No, one does not. He released many years of taxes. Look it up.
