Gadhafi asks Obama to end air strikes in a letter

WASHINGTON – Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi appealed directly to President Barack Obama on Wednesday to end what Gadhafi called "an unjust war," and he wished Obama good luck in his bid for re-election next year.

"You are a man who has enough courage to annul a wrong and mistaken action," Gadhafi wrote in a rambling, three-page letter to Obama obtained by The Associated Press on Wednesday. "I am sure that you are able to shoulder the responsibility for that."

The White House confirmed the letter, but top officials shrugged it off.

"I don't think there is any mystery about what is expected from Mr. Gadhafi at this time," Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said, repeating U.S. and allied demands that Gadhafi's forces pull back and cease attacks.

I thought you supported our actions in Libya?

Hmmmm....that's interesting....

India, China, Russia and Indonesia have all asked that the unprovoked US attacks stop.

huh? are you really this stupid? why must you continually play these petulant games....you know, strike that, i don't think they are games, i think you are that senile and stupid.

there is no contradiction in wondering where obama's diplomacy is and smiling that gaddafi is quaking in his boots to have written that letter.

Your posts about Libya just don't seem very supportive. Ya know - for a supporter & all.

lol

like i told you before, at least twice specifically to you, i supported wholly in the beginning when i thought we were going to remove gaddafi and had an end plan.....now....i don't know how much i support it because obama has no plan, is not going to remove gaddafi and no one is telling us what is going on or what we are doing.

but you can continue to be dishonest about my stance, its who you are. even if i was at 100% support right now, bashing obama for promising more diplomacy is not a contradiction or an indication i do not support what is going on. i even said i was happy gaddafi is quaking in his boots.....but according to you, those statements mean i'm unsupportive.

really dumb logic.

A top U.S. general said Thursday he doubts that Libyan rebels could push into the nation's capital and topple Moammar Gadhafi, even with the NATO air cover.

"I would assess that as a low likelihood," said Gen. Carter Ham, the head of U.S. Africa Command. He answered questions about the opposition forces in testimony before the Senate Armed Services Committee.
