pull your head out of your ass and wake up to reality. the government and law enforcement are NOT your friends. they are there to prosecute and imprison people. that is all they do. that is why they say 'ANYTHING you say can, AND WILL BE, used against you in a court of law. I've known lots of innocent people who got fucked by the current justice system. the police and government are not your friends. I trust them about as far as I could throw ted kennedy.

So don't commit crimes, develop an 800 credit score, get a good job and move to a nice neighborhood. The last two cops that I ran into just gave me a wink and a nod. *shrug*

when this country was founded, it was based on the principles of it's better to let ten guilty men go free than to imprison an innocent. Has conservatism strayed so far from the founders beliefs that this no longer holds true?

nope...we still let guilty people go free to protect one innocent....that's why it's so rare that innocent people are jailed.....usually its because a witness lied and convinced the jury it was the truth.....in your case, I suspect it's simply that your friends were lying to you about being innocent....

Not at all. My position is that the feds have an obligation to protect the States from terrorists, and if that requires listening in on international calls then so be it. *shrug*

the Supreme Court has decided on a number of occasions that it is lawful to wiretap overseas telephones in the interest of national security....if you chance to call one of those phones you have no entitlement to privacy......

the same thing is true in the US if you stop and think about it.....if Guigo's Pizza is under investigation for being a bookie joint and the cops get a warrant to tap their phone, when you call them to order a large supreme your call is not private....it is being recorded....
