Does your Masters in Theology give you a better understanding of American liberals than one who once was an "American liberal" and one who spends a great deal of time talking to and working with "American liberals?"

Perhaps you have a definition of American liberal that I am unfamiliar/clueless with.

I'm interested in how you define "American liberal" differently than what would be expected.

If you don't think Krugman's perspectives on economics doesn't include his ideological thinking then you haven't read Krugman's economic perspectives .,. which clearly demonstrate they come from a leftist thinker.

His "hatred" of Bush/conservatives comes from his hatred of what they were doing to the economy .. and he was right.

Again.... as I stated, Krugman for the most part is incapable of removing his ideological bullshit from his writing on economics. HOWEVER, what he won the nobel prize for did indeed remove political ideology. That does not mean that every piece he writes on the economy is correct.

As for what was going on to the economy, you are completely misinformed if you think it was 'conservatives' doing this to the economy. THAT is the bullshit that Krugman likes to put forth and the lemmings tend to believe it. When you look at what ACTUALLY occurred, you will see that both parties were walking hand in hand.

When you look at Krugmans claptrap on healthcare, it shows clearly that he is NOT thinking about the economics of the situation, but rather the ideology that he wishes to spew forth. Like many in the media and both sides of the aisle, he is trying to use fear to justify pushing forth a more socialistic agenda.

I don't think my definition is unexpected.....you begin with the characteristic lack of knowledge....combine that with a total disregard for honesty and multiply it times the inherent inability to lead....divide the result between the total of unrelated self interest groups that comprise it's coalition and then calculate the square root of despair and fear that they utilize to cement the whole thing together.....the horrible mess that results is "American liberal"......

I think what he means is that the 'liberal' democracy of our founding fathers age is not very similar to the 'liberal' philosophy of today. If it were similar then the massive federal government would have been put in place back then.

The Founders founded the Constitution; modern conservatives want to protect it and modern liberals want to flush it down the toilet. Therefore modern liberals have nothing in common with the Founders; the political meaning of liberalism has obviously changed in 230 years.
