This would be perfectly true, except that you then cited a case of Republican voters actually standing up for what they believe and trying to stage a coup against a candidate they didn't like, so you basically contradicted yourself.

I live in Democratic territory, so I don't usually get to see cases of Republicans being tools in my locality. That said, the ignorant masses are generally stupid when it comes to politics and history, so I would expect nothing more from constituents of either party. Empty rhetoric makes excellent prole-feed and always has.
