National Public Radio fired Fox News contributor Juan Williams on Wednesday after a Monday night appearance on Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" in which Williams said that it makes him nervous to fly on airplanes with devoutly-clad Muslims.

"I mean, look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country," Williams told host Bill O'Reilly during a discussion on the dilemma between fighting jihadists and fears about average Muslims.

Its best to actually read EXACTLY what Juan said.....but pinheads will be pinheads, whether its NPR or the DNC

Juan Williams is a pants-shitter. Aside from the bigotry, which isn't really all that surprising, what strikes me is how fucking stupid his comment is. I mean, near as I recollect, none of the 9/11 hijackers nor the Shoe Bomber nor the Boxersorbriefs Bomber were "clad in Muslim garb."

the 9/11 hijackers, the Shoe Bomber, and the Boxersorbriefs Bomber are TOTALLY irrelevant to this issue....

I bet all of the people squealing like scalded cats over this were very upset when Helen Thomas was fired too. I mean, you have to at least give them that.

We have a problem with publicly funded companies firing people for expressing an opinion.

I'm not sure why you don't.

Well in all fairness, I am going to go out on a limb and guess that Darla has tons of experience with getting fired and probably has faced something very similar to Helen Thomas; Kinda like the situation with the old man and his Guide dog that wanted to pay her to take her clothes off she mentioned on the Unconscious...You Wanted It thread.

If it's happen to a downtrodden liberal woman, it's likely happened to Darla. :palm:

Actually, NPR isn't a state actor for purposes of the First Amendment and Juan Williams had no case whatsoever.
