France's burqa ban: Has Europe forgotten the gas chambers?

the article did not title the thread, however, the article is completely out of touch with reality, by picking up the theme of the title and running with it.

the fact...there are people who would liken a ban on burkas or naqib's as akin to GAS CHAMBERS....is so beyond absurd...one has to wonder, have we forgotten the past? the horrors of the nazis? to often (i'm guilty as i call people spelling or parking nazis etc...) we try and demonize our opponents by proclaiming....NAZI!.

i have no problem making a joke with the word nazi, as in parking nazi, because you aren't really imparting any true moral turpitude on your intended victim. however, to seriously declare that one's action is just like the nazis...is inexcusable fear mongering that stomps on the graves of millions.
 
That is a step for Iran war. The ruling class need excuse to start war on Iran – false flag attacks on Western countries. (Like 911 attack to justify Iraq, Afghanistan war) What causes the “terror attack”? In France, it will be “veil ban”. In US, it will be “Quran burning”. It’s not a coincidence they both happened in recent days. Beware of coming “terror attack” and followed by war on Iran. Discuss the civil right is a waste of time. The ban is a deliberate provocation, a part of war plan.
 
It's not saying that banning burka's is exactly like the gas chambers. The question is more one of "have we not learned the lessons of history?"

The Nazi atrocities didn't start with gas chambers; they started small, and were gradual & incremental.

that answer would be NO!!!!! We haven't learned from history. In fact, most of americans prefer to be slaves to it. Take the TEA party as an example. something 'radical' and extreme.....NOOOOOOOOOO it's too fricking much freedom. we must have the babysitter government or people would go insane.
 
Where in the Quran does it specify that women will dress like this? It is no more a part of there religious text than is wearing short pants part of the Christian religion. It is a tradition but not really commanded by the text of the religion. How is this a problem. If it saves someone from being profiled or assaulted it may well be a good thing.

are you aware that authentic hadiths have the same force as the quran? this is where they get their so called authority for the burka. however, as with many religious texts, the interpretation as to full body (face included) is up for debate as some muslims believe only in the hijab which merely covers the head. iirc, belief in the burka is not followed by the majority of muslims.

Does a society have a right to the "greater good"? Having been a banker for a period of time, I can tell you it would be very disconcerting to have persons so disguised coming into the bank- Perhaps a national ban is too oppressive of personal freedoms (France is not the US) but how about if specific business's banned burqa's?

what is interesting is that the same muslims (possibly non muslims as well) who are protesting the burka ban.....have absolutely no problem with any arab country (SA) banning another religions holy book. but how dare they ban clothing!!!!!

There are many female followers of Islam that do not wear the hibab or any other cover as they do not believe that it is part of the religion. They believe that is part of the subjugation of the female by a male dominant religion. I know many. They are usually not in the Islamic nations because they would be in severe trouble. I think that mode of dress is just a way for men to further control women in that culture.
