Amanda Knox says she will not travel to Italy for trial over the 2007 murder of British student Meredith Kercher.
"I was already imprisoned as innocent person in Italy," Knox told NBC. "I just can't relive that."
Ms Knox and her Italian ex-boyfriend were acquitted in 2011.
Italy's highest court overturned both acquittals, ordering a fresh appeals process.
Knox spent four years in prison before her acquittal.
