I think that if you were to ask a non american what defines america you might be dismayed at your answer.
You are simply repeating the half truths that you were taught as a child and which no one in america dare challenge.
Your society is not as free as you believe it is, your speech is not as free as you think it is, your actions are not as free as you think they are. And what you think has been put there by the people who pull your strings. I guess that what truly defines americans is their incredible gullibility.
Not all americans are arrogant, heaven knows being known as the greatest invader of nations and killer of innocents is hardly worth crowing about.
Y'know there are only two major nations who insist on overt patriotism. One is the US. The other is China.

And I know your opinion doesn't change what I have seen in my travels, and sometimes I even agree with the people. It's all good, and nobody here "requires" patriotism. You can tell that by the people burning troops in effigy, flags, President Bush in effigy, all the "nazi" signs about the leaders... You are ignorant about your own favorite subject, America.
