Fox News host warns Trump of ‘insurrection’ if he pardons Maxwell, MAGA revolt brewing

One day we will wake to his obituary :-)

A former Fox News host has warned that former President Donald Trump could face a revolt from his own political base if he moves to pardon convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell.

“There will be an insurrection,” Gretchen Carlson, who left Fox after playing a key role in exposing sexual harassment at the network, said Saturday on MSNBC.

“If that happens, it won’t just be Democrats,” she continued. “It’ll be MAGA, it’ll be independents, it’ll be everybody. Because we are in a place in society right now where we know that child sex trafficking is a crime and that you should not be granted clemency or any release for doing that to young women.”

Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for conspiring with financier Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse minors. Trump has acknowledged he has the power to pardon Maxwell, though he said he has not been approached to do so. In July, the Justice Department met with Maxwell for nine hours before transferring her to a lower-security federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas.

As a presidential candidate, Trump promoted far-right conspiracy theories claiming Epstein and Maxwell were central figures in a global pedophilia network and suggesting Epstein’s death was staged by powerful associates to cover their crimes. He pledged to release all government files related to Epstein.

While in office, Trump faced backlash from his own supporters after a July 6 memo from the Justice Department and FBI concluded Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and that investigators found no “client list” of wealthy accomplices.

The DOJ and FBI findings intensified scrutiny over Trump’s prior ties to Epstein, whom he once called a “terrific guy” who “likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

Seeking to calm the uproar among loyalists, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche — Trump’s former defense attorney — held an extended meeting with Maxwell, who is appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Following that meeting, Maxwell was moved to a low-security facility with amenities such as a gym, yoga classes, and a “puppy program,” though as a registered sex offender she is not eligible to join the latter.

Reports that the Justice Department may release transcripts from her interview — during which Maxwell reportedly said she never saw Trump act inappropriately — have fueled speculation that a pardon could be under consideration.

“That is the bigger slap in the face to the survivors,” Carlson said. “Normalizing the fact that it doesn’t matter what she did, the idea that that would even be on the table for consideration, that is going to cross all party lines.”

Horse mierda.

Who cares what she thinks?

It’s a dead horse. The federal judge says there will be no release of the Grand Jury proceedings.
