"Fox News has always been partisan. But has it become propaganda?"

"Hannity was treated in Texas like a member of the Administration because he virtually is one. Fox has long been a bane of liberals, but in the past two years many people who watch the network closely, including some Fox alumni, say that it has evolved into something that hasn’t existed before in the United States, it's the closest we’ve come to having state TV.”

"Fox acts as a force multiplier for Trump, solidifying his hold over the Republican Party and intensifying his support. For both Trump and Fox, fear is a business strategy—it keeps people watching.”

"The White House and Fox interact so seamlessly that it can be hard to determine, during a particular news cycle, which one is following the other’s lead. Sarah Sanders, has largely stopped holding press conferences, but she has made some thirty appearances on such shows as “Fox & Friends” and “Hannity."

"It’s as if the President had his own press organization. It’s simply a mouthpiece for the President, repeating what the President says, no matter how false or contradictory. The feedback loop is so strong that Trump will even pick up an error made by Fox,”

Lot of strange coincidences there;

What other news source covered all of Trump rallies, beginning to end, 2016 and 2018?

What other news source has set all kinds of records interviewing the sitting President forty two times in just his first two years?

How many other politicians had major new sources' figures comparable to Hannity and Pirro's role on FOX share the same campaign stage and podium as Trump has had in the past?

What other news source has experienced such as FOX did with Shine leaving FOX to go to the White House and shortly thereafter Hope Hicks appointed as senior executive in charge of communications at FOX?

What other news source has programs that Trump calls in during live broadcasts to offer his opinions?

And what Administration ever can come close to duplicating the revolving door between the Administration and FOX employees plus "regular contributors" to come close to the likes of Nagert, Keane, Bolton, Carson, Schlapp, Mosbacher, Grenell, Syaegh, McEntee, Grenell, Shine, McFarland, etc..

Seemingly Fox has gone beyond just being partisan as other news sources have, but you got to give them credit for one thing, least they had the dignity to confess up and dump the "fair and balanced" bullshit

It's always been a horrible shithole entertainment for racists channel with a poor rep and everyone has always known it.
No different now.

It was designed as a right-wing response to the "left " news shows. It is just kept going deeper and deeper. Now it is propaganda that even many rightys can see. Hannity is the head of Trumps administration. He is chief of staff.

A more plausible explanation is that the rest of the press is completely hostile to the president, and like you or I or any other human being, he prefers talking to people who won't misrepresent him.

Not at all, being "hostile to the President," which has always been the role of the media, would never justify FOX becoming State TV, as I noted, partisanship and propaganda are two different things

Trump has taken over the GOP

I could see this happening when Trump ousted the GOP offering of Jeb Bush. I was very excited to see somebody hijack the GOP platform out from under those shitbags who did not do what they campaigned on in the 2014 midterms. I am very thankful that Trump hijacked their platform.

So then you must be happy as punch that what has to be your favorite news source is now State TV

State television implies that the state owns it. That just isn't the case.

The previous president was quite hostile to Fox news, including on wiretapping and spying on one of their reporters, and used the Espionage Act to go after whistleblowers who leaked to journalists more than all previous administrations combined. I think Trump's preference for going to fox news is a little less worrisome.

Every single cable news channel is in lockstep except for FOX News. It would be wise to watch the only channel that offers something different. I watch all the other channels that do not align with my ideology, but it is not because I like them or agree with them. It is only because I want the information. If you choose to not watch the ONLY channel that offers a different perspective, that is your business. It will guarantee a condition known as self imposed ignorance. Boycotting any knowledge leads to self imposed ignorance.

Do you remember a few months back when Sarah Sanders was essentially told to stop holding the daily press briefings? That was Trump calling the media a bunch of assholes. If you listen to anything other than FOX, you'd think there were naked beggars dying of starvation in the streets and thousands of precious infants dying from infected paper cuts because they didn't have obamacare so the rich could get their tax cuts. And despite what you may think, Fox watchers get all the bad stuff about Trump too, that's usually when I get a chance to watch the SyFy channel for a while

Any questions?

It has gotten a lot worse. It used to be bad before, but now it's down there with the other pond scum. It went from being really biased, to the little whore that could.

Is there much difference between own or control? As I shown above, sure seems that that White House pretty much controls FOX

The prior Administration, nor any other Administration, ever had a network speak directly for them, and Trump doesn't go to FOX news, he controls Fox news

"Fox watchers get all the bad stuff about Trump too," no, they get a framed version of the "bad stuff about Trump," and one usually implying that it is not Trump's fault nor was Trump wrong

And Sarah didn't stop giving press conferences, she just stopped giving them to anyone but FOX, as you should know she usually appears there nearly every other day in some form or another

No, what we get is Trump's version of the events. And if you watched any of the commentators, you would know that they absolutely LOVE to show snippets of commentary from the other networks and then laugh at them and get guests to comment(and yes, they have a whole stable of leftists they trot out)I'll give you an example, about 45 minutes ago, I'm watching Laura Ingram comment on that college recruiting mess. She showed a clip of Don Lemon talking about how it was so similar to the Trump way of doing business. Trump is inserted into every topic they cover without regard to his involvement, I don't have to listen to it(yet), and I'm not going to. Geez, talk about propaganda! You know the drinking game where you have to do a shot every time a TV character says or does a certain thing? You couldn't play that game if the parameters were that you had to drink every time some talking head from CNN or MSNBC said something negative about the president, you'd black out and die of alcohol poisoning in 15 minutes

And Sarah didn't stop giving press conferences, she just stopped giving them to anyone but FOX, as you should know she usually appears there nearly every other day in some form or another

Oh yeah, I've seen her on Fox a lot in the past few months. I'm talking about those daily briefings in the white house with all the white house press corp. Trump told her late last year not to bother with them anymore because they were turning into clusterfucks. I think she did the first one in months last Saturday or Sunday

CBS News White House correspondent Major Garrett on Friday said that it "should be noted" that the Obama administration attempted to "demonize" Fox News regularly.

"There was never an effort to shut me out of the briefing room," Garrett told Hill.TV's Krystal Ball and Saagar Enjeti on "Rising," referring to the Trump White House revoking press credentials from CNN reporter Jim Acosta.

Garrett worked as a White House correspondent at Fox News during the Obama administration.

"The [Obama] White House said it was at war with Fox News. I was its most visible editorial representative on the White House grounds as a senior White House correspondent," he continued.

"The White House would always pull me aside and say 'well, really, Major, we're not at war with you,' and I said 'stop talking to me like that because when you're at war with my network you by definition are questioning and assailing my journalistic credibility and the work I do here every day,' " he said. " 'So don't tell me it's not about me, it is about me.' "

"Now, they never tried to pull my pass, but they had this sort of arms-length relationship to Fox and tried to demonize it on a daily basis. So that's another part of American history and journalism in the White House press corps I think at least should be noted at this moment," he said.

Garrett's comments come amid increased tensions between CNN and the Trump administration.

A federal judge ruled Friday morning that the White House had to reinstate Acosta's press pass after it was revoked last week following a testy exchange between Acosta and the president.
