I don’t know if Obama would have pushed the governors to reopen—that takes gonads if you think about it. Once we recognized the China virus got here from China, it was already established in our *highly mobile* population.

No amount of ‘leadership’, masking, testing or tracing was going to change things: NYC and NJ were doomed to be ravaged regardless of who was President. IOW, we’d still have the bulk of our COVID statistics from there.

The rest of the later spikes were/are inevitable. The virus is gonna virus. All we can do is manage it. Or stay in our homes and watch the economy collapse into a full-blown depression.

Even then there’s no guarantee there won’t be an another outbreak.

Suddenly 8.4% unemployment rate

It will be revised upwards, we all know that. They are having trouble keeping up with the disaster.

When I saw Terri say 880,000 new unemployment claims in a week was great, I originally thought she was being sarcastic. But, she honestly believes that is great. Now we can unwrap the job numbers and realize huge numbers of white collar workers have just lost their jobs. Worse yet, many of the service workers who were furloughed are being called back... To be laid off. They need to be paid for a week or two just to let their employers keep the stimulus grants.
