Fox offered Dominion a settlement which was apparently accepted.

Clearly Fox did not want their litany of lies to be dragged into the limelight of a trial.
 
Fox is going to have to admit what they did. I'm guessing every Fox News Host is going to have to tell their gullible, ignorant audience that they lied to them. Over and over again. Plus, 787 million dollars. But the former is far more damaging to Fox than the latter. I can't wait to see Tucker eat shit on the air.

One must assume that Fox was afraid of the punitive damages the jury was sure to award.

I think they were looking at the possibility of treble damages. I think that would have destroyed Fox. That's over 5 billion.
 
A long litany of lies

A new rule for this forum is that anyone who uses and posts Fox links will be met with roars of laughter.

Surely, a jury could have easily escalated Dominion's demands, not to mention all the attention the verdict would generate if it climbed into the multiple millions
 
Got to believe that the News Corporation, Murdoch's family, was a little nervous over Rupert himself having to take the stand, he's not accustomed to being questioned and is known for his going off the deep end when pushed

With all of the evidence making the news, including internal Fox communications, Dominion may have had the strongest position in any civil suit in history.
