Founding Fathers Original Tax Plan

The Founders realized that society would change over time, in fact there is extensive writings such as ' the present belongs to the living' and such. So they developed a method for the Constitution to change, called the Amendment Process. So if you want the federal government to wipe your ass for you, then go through the process and give them the power and the authority to do so.

But you know what would happen. The debate would be, "Is Charmin softer than Cottonelle?" "Is Quilted Northern cheaper?" "Does Scott's Rapid-Dissolving cause undue stress in the more laid back individuals?"

Not to this degree. Its a matter of degees and that matters.

Why? If a lot of trade is bad then why isn't a little trade bad?

We have been going from bubble to bubble since the seventies. Our decline is in full force now, with outsourcing and trade deficits showing no signs of abating. All the bubbles have popped. And housing is being let down slowly.

We're just now heading into the 'new normal', due to globalization idiocy.

I've defeated you once again, so shut your internationalist fascist idiot mouth, before i shut it for you.:)

Please try to show some causal relationship. It should be quite amusing to hear you explain that our woes are caused by trade, while the trade deficit goes up in good times and down in bad.

All the bubbles are caused by monetary policy and there was another historical event in the 70s that contributed to that.

If you're importing things you really can't produce at home, then it's good.

If you're importing everything possible such that you're putting too many americans out of work to keep demand high, that's bad.

Our woes are not cause by some trade. Our woes are cause when corporations outsource as many jobs as possible, thus making it so demand flags and too many americans are cut out of our own supply chain.

Consumption is not really a legitimate comparative advantage.

Imports may lag slightly when the bubbles covering the instrinsic flaws in our economy burst. Bubble reflation has been the usual "path to recovery", instead of fixing the lopsidedness of our trade, they just reflate a few key bubbles so the idiot globalization march could continue. This explains the red herring false "fact" you're seeing.
All the bubbles are caused by monetary policy and there was another historical event in the 70s that contributed to that.
And hype. And marketing, and finance professionals lying about asset classes and "good investments". The whole public market is an overhyped bubble based on professional malfeasance. Who is gonna buy all the stocks in the 401 k plans of the baby boomers as they retire, when the next generation faces and outsourced future and a "new normal"?

I just ass-raped you.:):loveu:

I would quote the passage for you but I'm sure you're pretty familiar with how this works by now.

But you know what would happen. The debate would be, "Is Charmin softer than Cottonelle?" "Is Quilted Northern cheaper?" "Does Scott's Rapid-Dissolving cause undue stress in the more laid back individuals?"

Note what happens when lib-tards are faced with an unassailable argument: they turn to shit.

If man is not fit to govern themselves, how is it that you wish for men to govern us?

I think what got lost in this discussion is the prospect of freeing Working people from the shackles of the IRS and laying the responsibility of Government collecting Revenue from a Consumption Tax along with a Modest Tariff.. I dont believe thats an insane idea ...not at all. Is it protectionism? Slightly .. it helps .. People's Republic of China own 867.7 billion of US Treasury Securities ... When does it stop?

Listen to Trump here .. he is correct ... we cant do business in China yet they sell eveything here...

The tariff part is good, But a consumption tax is too regressive. really rich people don't even use a fraction of their income on consumption, it is just their leverage they use to buy and sell control of other people. Corporate tax and income tax should stay in place. Consumption tax should never be implemented.

People use enough of their income on Consumption ... c'mon... Consumption hits everyone equally ... everyone purchases items of luxury in one form or another.. hell you would even capture some that lost black market income.

Removing the income Tax puts the power of the dollar back in the hands of the People. Income Tax is a form of Government confiscation. As I said in an earlier post ... The present attitude in Washington concerning Income Taxes.. is they view our incomes as the Governments first and the rest is what they allow you to keep. As Kerry said in a speech "the Bush Tax Cuts gave the wealthy in this Country 49 billion dollars"

But it's a larger percentage of the working classes income. Even massive consumption on the part of the rich doesn't even approach the even more disparate levels of their income.

It's regressive, and i can't believe conservatives are actually for this crock of shit.

It's the elitism showing through.

All taxes are a form of government confiscation.

A trillion dollars out of the economy is, at the end of the day, a trillion dollars out of the economy. The income tax is just fairer than the consumption tax, and that's why conservatives hate it.

A tariff is a consumption tax on foreign goods.

I dont believe the idea of is to confiscate as much of the rich's wealth as possible... lol .....

I understand what you are saying in that the top 10% pay 67% of the Fed Taxes in this country. However.. please remember that the price of goods the wealthy consume is way over and beyond that of normal folk. Where a Normal Joe may pay 40 dollars for a pair of dress pants off the rack at a local dept store, a wealthy person pays a couple of hundred for a custom tailored dress slack. A big difference in %. This rule applies to all sorts of luxury items. Normal people do not purchase a fleet of automobiles with all the bells and whistles. So in the truest sense... the slide scale is well represented in a Consumption Tax.

I actually respond with impactful and genius level retorts, mixed in with nastiness for the flavorin'.
Your retorts are on par with Dan Akroyd saying "Jane you ignorant slut!" It is an attempt to discredit through insult and everyone sees through it. Not only that, but it bleeds over to your hate of your mother and the fact that she keeps you in the basement with all your Hitler and David Duke posters and cheap knock off faux Nazi memorabilia.

Never going to get Tariffs on imported goods. 3/4's of everything in Wal-Mart would become more expensive, causing layoffs, causing loss in purchase power causing a negative impact on the economy. Instead, lets tax the income of foreign corporations that is created in the US. Lets lower everyone's tax to 17%. Lets give everyone a deduction of $35k. No other deductions, including mortgage payments. 20% on everything over 1 million but only to pay down the debt. This is the tax that everyone opposes most. It would raise revenues, it would not allow foreign companys to take money off shore without paying for the privledge of doing business here. This the only fair way to tax people. Well at least IMHO.

You're wrong. much of what wall mart sells are considered staples, and the demand for these is relatively inelastic, meaning people will still buy them.

You're also not factoring the jobs that will be gained from increased domestic production, which will get a boost from tariffs.

These aren't half bad.

I believe this is where a lot of people miss the point. The usual response is the US has changed from a Manufacturing based economy to a Service based economy. Wrong, not everyone is suited for Service based employment . We are ignoring a very large pct of our population by telling them they need to get with the program and forcing them into area's of employment they are not suited for. Some people are suited for Cubicles and working behind a Computer and with a phone, while others are better suited working with machinery and assembling things. I believe most Americans would buy American if they had the choice. There was a time and that was when Sam Walton was running things... Walmart took pride in displaying store flags that said made in America... their sales didnt suffer back then, they still made billions and became the number 1 retailer ....

We are not discussing your retarded protectionism, moron. The article was about using MODEST tariffs as the sole means of generating revenue. You are attempting to hijack the thread because no one takes your stupid positions seriously.

Every one worships my insightful and free-thinking ideations.

Im a breath of fresh air in contrast to the internationalist fascist propaganda you spout.
