1. The patriotic gun ban in Germany was done by the previous Weimar governments in an attempt to disarm the Nazi's and Communist's; it didn't have much of an effect.
2. Liberalism is stridently opposed to nationalization. That's a conservative policy; anything to give the strong power over the weak. If that involves using the state to give corporations more power, then so be it. Conservatism is a stridently neo-Nazi, anti-intellectual, anti-human, pro-cruelty movement.
3. Medicine was patriotically socialized in Germany in the 1870's. God bless the true German's who did so, and to hell with Hitler.
4. Expansionist policies? Liberalism is about peace. Liberalism is about anything that is possibly good. Conservatism is about anything that is possibly evil.

There is no one more opposed to Hitlers philosophy than I am. I would have been one of the Socialists; the Socialists were the only party to vote against the enabling act. Socialism has a long history of being the most vicious opposition to conservatism/fascism (the two words are synonymous).

Nationalized health care was the foundation on which the Holocaust was built. In 1929 when the economy crashed and the government began to slash medical budgets they began their Eugenics program (yup, before Hitler) in the name of savings they began to kill retarded and handicapped babies and using forced sterilization on the basis that the wheelchair bound or retarded should not be allowed to reproduce...
This was expanded, of course, by the Nazis, who were an odd conglomeration of ideation that involved both conservative ideas (patriotism and nationalism) and liberal ideas...
Those "true patriots" that existed before hitler (your words) were slaughtering innocents and forcing sterilization surgery on them to save cash.

The US had forced sterilization programs long before Germany did.
The Nazi's were a perfect coalition of all of conservatism's true desire. Modern conservative's have been involved in significant and disgusting revisionism in order to hide their true legacy. They have labelled as "liberal" the one person in the world who labored in opposition to everything liberalism stood for. It's just disgusting how much doublething you'd have to go through to arrive at this conclusion; conservatism is all of the bad things about humanity, all in one ideology.

The laws you spoke of in 1928 (the ones you tried to say were "ineffective") simply required a list be made of gun owners in Germany, it was registration, not confiscation... It was 1938 that Hitler signed the law that allowed the confiscation of the weapons from the Jews, and where do you think they were listed? Why exactly was it so easy to find out, for a large part, exactly which of them owned weapons?
Amazingly, accurate lists were kept in many of the nearby nations, Czechoslovakia and Poland for instance, where right after invasion they were able to again easily identify and confiscate weapons due to government registration processes and wreak havoc on the unarmed populace.

So Hitler never instituted a general gun ban?
He did all kinds of things to the Jews. If I had to start with the worst of them, it definitely wouldn't be the gun seizures. Jews couldn't even get basic necessities like medical treatment because it was banned. Even to this day, Conservatives are pursuing Hitler's legacy in that regard.
All of what he did to them was preceded by the gun seizures. Do you even know what the Night of the Broken Glass is?
The police were ordered to stand aside and the populace was riled up to burn synagogues and every Jewish business... And they were known to be safe because of the confiscation of weapons.

You first didn't even know that the earlier laws (before Hitler) were only registration and therefore the "ineffective" argument was simply based in ignorance, then you attempt to dismiss the significance of the first step in control, in each of the places they came to as well as Berlin was confiscation....

This is exactly a conservative tactic. When we they ban guns, they always ban it amongst specific groups. They oppose all patriotic general gun bans because they oppose saving lives. They know minorities will die and that makes them happy.
