Fort Hood: 12 Dead 31 Injured

I can't believe this... authorities have now said this "was not an act of terrorism."

12 people are dead, 31 injured, by a converted Muslim on a military base.... what the fuck is it, if not terrorism?

Perhaps you'd like to define terrorism for us as you see it then.

Don't you think intent matters?

Are you hell-bent on making even more of an ass our of yourself w/ regard to this incident?

What's next?

It caused terror but I doubt that that was the intention.
But it does bring back into focus some of those things that, because of political correctness, we find ourselves unable to openly voice.
He was a Muslim. There are many muslims. BUT even though he was employed by the US military and obviously had had to swear allegiance and loyalty he STILL wore a taqiyah and a galabyyah (I may have the names wrong, but if you have read this far, you know what I mean.... - a nightdress!!!). Whilst accepting that one may wear anything in the privacy of one's own home that dress is a statement which, in fact, denies the oaths of loyaly he took. This applies to any religious dress that isn't, by custom, a part of the society in which one lives.
Don't forget he was born in the US!
Next he made a conscious decision to kill Americans RATHER than face the dilemma of having to kill Muslims in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Now the PC bit.
I would say that there IS a clear case for some sort of racial profiling AND consideration of some censure on the acceptance and employment of all muslims or of anyone who refuses, by speech or action, to embrace the culture that gives him succour.
That would leave me, for instance, standing on your windswept shores waiting for the next boat home for I'm damned if I would wear cowboy hats, become a born again christian or hug people at random!

Low, spare me the "pc" lecture. I am not a big proponent of pc, and it usually bugs me.

But, according to Dixie, there is no way this can NOT be an act of terrorism (a designation which, for obvious reasons, the government only applies to certain actions & motivations), because the person involved has a Muslim affiliation.

I don't think there is anything else I need to say. You do the math...

I heard he was raised Mulsim. I don't think this had anything to do with his religion.
According to reports he was shouting Allahu Ackbar while doing it, and argued at his last base constantly with other officers over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. And is on record (the interwebs) supporting suicide bombers. One of his fellow doctors said that last month he said something to the tune of, "maybe the Muslims should rise up against the agressors..."

According to other reports the FBI had been watching him...

At this point I still don't know what to believe. Yesterday there were reports of three attackers, now it is this guy alone. They are reporting that he was first shot by a female MP responding to the emergency...

It has to do with the government only so far as legal ramifications are concerned. Terrorism is world wide, your government is responsible for a very small part of that world.
Someone has said he was shouting Allah be praised or something. That would suggest that it WAS his intention to cause terror and that terrorism was the motivation or a motivation of the attack.
As far as the pc 'lecture' is concerned, you are a citizen of the most 'up-yer-own-arses' politically correct nation on earth. I guess I made a natural mistake. I apologise.
What maths are you referring to? The numbers involved are not part of the argument, are they?

I know saying, and I'm not discounting that this COULD be an act of terrorism, but the mere fact that the suspect has a Muslim affiliation is NOT a basis for that conclusion, as Dixie insinuated.

Sorry if my tone was snippy; this thread is over the line for me....

Most koolaid drenched hacks let at least a day of reflection go by before shamelessly politicizing a national tragedy.

It's great to see Dixie lower the bar by going for it as soon as it flies across the ticker.

Way to go, Dix!

Yeah and where were all those liberal loons that were letting "at least a day of reflection go by before shamelessly politicizing a national tragedy" while Bush was in office?

Your hypocrisy is sickening.

Take a look at the most recent news about this Major and his internet shenanigans. Take a long hard look and you will see the military tried to keep a tight lid on this nutbar.

Now saying this is Obama's fault is out of line, but what is patently apparent is we bend over backwards to give a wide berth to Muslims and there are a good many amongst us who want to kill you, your parents, your aunts, and uncles and couldn't care less about your "feelings" thank you very much.

How do you know I didn't say anything? On what basis are you citing hypocrisy?

You fail, because I have been outspoken about this on both sides. Don't assume, lest you want to look as idiotic as Dixie.

agree
no prob

How this blood is any more on Obama's hands than Bush's I will never know.

Dixie you are such a hypocrate. You called people unpatirotic for talking like this about Bush!

Is every attack terrorism? Do you understand what terrorism is? It could be an act of insanity, or revenge or rage....

It could also be terrorism, but to insist it must be terrorism based on the above facts alone is silly and ignorant..
