Former Republicans and Democrats form new third U.S. political party

LOS ANGELES, July 27 (Reuters) - Dozens of former Republican and Democratic officials announced on Wednesday a new national political third party to appeal to millions of voters they say are dismayed with what they see as America's dysfunctional two-party system.

The new party, called Forward and whose creation was first reported by Reuters, will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman, the former Republican governor of New Jersey. They hope the party will become a viable alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties that dominate U.S. politics, founding members told Reuters.

I will be listening to what Bret has to say about this, he liked Yang once, but I dont know about now. I remember not liking Whitman recently for one reason or another. Do they expect the d's and the r's to just let them on ballots?

I didn't because I wasn't going to okay putting the "leadership" that has greatly contributed to exactly what you prophesy.

If Yang and Witman want to start a "new party"...fine with me.

But anyone who thinks that a new party will not have the problems which plague every
political party...are dreamers.

What on Earth makes anyone suppose that the creation of a new party is the solution to anything?

Everybody likes an alternative.

The new party should;

Ban association with AIPAC ( a foreign power masquerading as American )
Reject corporate donors.
Empower trade unions.

There's a wholesome basis and a good alternative to the two existing mobsters.

Also, it should not term itself ' Centrist '. The position of a party is determined by its membership.

Any start-up third party will attract politicians. We obtain our politicians from the primate species Homo Sapiens...also informally referred to as "humans."

It will take humans a few months to corrupt a new start-up party to the same degree as any presently established party. To suppose a new party will remain pure or unsullied, is a bizarre dream.

The best thing anyone can do as a reaction to the idea...is to get a good laugh out of it.
