Recent developments warrant the appointment of a special counsel to investigate Hunter Biden, former Attorney General William Barr says.

“ntervening events, especially recent reports about FBI whistleblowers and the possible reach of the investigation, warrant adding the protections of special counsel status to assure that key decisions are made independently without political ‘favor,’” Barr told The Federalist.

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has been under federal investigation since 2018 for issues related to his foreign business practices, including obtaining investments and board positions from politically compromised figures in communist China and other trouble spots. Multiple U.S. attorney’s offices were tasked with components of the investigation, with the Delaware office being the lead. Hunter Biden’s problems became much more public with the news that he had left a laptop full of incriminating information at a computer repair store in Delaware. That news was then suppressed by Democrat-allied intelligence officials falsely claiming it was Russian disinformation.

This week, multiple FBI whistleblowers, including those in senior positions, accused FBI headquarters of “improperly discredit[ing] and falsely claim[ing] that derogatory information about Biden’s activities was disinformation, causing investigative activity and sourcing to be shut down,” according to a Monday letter from Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. .....

You mean Billy Barr no longer doesn’t believes in the Imperial Presidency theory that he employed numerously to bail out Trump?

If he does, then what would be the sense of investigating the President’s son, he’s just a citizen, and if he doesn’t, then he is as unprincipled as most always suspected

No! The FBI has had the Laptop from Hell for over two years and they tried to bury it. They also falsely labeled it as Russian disinformation in an attempt to discredit it. They have shown a special independent counsel is necessary to handle this politically charged subject that reaches directly into the oval office. Barr understands that a special council is long overdue.

I have nothing against some lad fresh out of uni with a politics degree, or those who hate nazis, and aspiring psychologist but what I register from this team is that they have zero experience to suggest their opinions are any more accurate than my own when it comes to judging the veracity of news sites. In fact given I could produce 10–15 years of writing editorials in various places about the news, I find myself more qualified. They are not experts, of anything to do with the main task in hand - judging credibility of news platforms online.

GARLAND IS TOO BUSY ORDERING THE FBI TO BLOCK ANY NEGATIVE DATA ABOUT HUNTER BIDEN, TO ACTUALY MOUNT A SERIOUS PROBE INTO HIS TREASONOUS CORRUPTION...WHICH INCLUDES DADDY.

Its not up to Barr, or is it up to you. The last thing we think about is honesty from the Barr Justice dept. He should be the last one demanding anything.
