Foreign Policy

Sadly, the small percentage of Democrats who did speak up had little influence. I do not identify myself as a Democrat.

And that statement is downright ridiculous....you've been defending Obama in particular and liberals in general on EVERY issue without let up....patting
Christiefan in the head every opportunity you get when she defends him and leftwing issues....you are as Democrat as you can get.....

so you're "I do not identify myself as a Democrat" is the sign blatant hypocrisy.....

If you walk like a duck and quack like a duck.....you're a duck no matter what you think you see in the mirror....

One can be independent and liberal or indepedent and conservative. I don't think one has to register with a party even if that is how they vote a majority of the time or share many of the same beliefs. I don't think I've seen Rana refer to herself as really anything other than liberal or progressive. Just my opinion of course but I don't think she's ever tried to hide or deny her true beliefs.

I agree with you. The Obama Administration laughed at them and called them "the professional left" and said that they should be "drug tested."

Simply put, Obama's act as a progressive was just an act.

So much for that Nobel Peace Prize! How anti-war Obama has become Lord High Executioner

They call them the ‘Terror Tuesday’ meetings. Held in the Situation Room in the bowels of the White House, they are chaired by President Barack Obama and include up to two dozen intelligence and counter-terrorism officials.

Their purpose is to consider which of America’s enemies should be placed on the White House’s ‘kill list’.

After viewing what officials jocularly call ‘baseball cards’, which contain terror suspects’ biographies, the pros and cons of their continued existence on earth are debated.

Barrage: President Obama has authorised five times as many drone strikes as his predecessor

Drones strikes were first used by the Americans in 2004, but President George W. Bush was sparing with them. In five years, he authorised only 44 attacks. By the time Obama was into his third year in office, though, he had signed off on more than five times that number.

Suddenly Obama is being depicted as a steely-eyed purveyor of death. This image was reinforced by an exhaustive 6,000-word article in the New York Times, quoting senior White House officials.

The piece was clearly authorised by the White House in the hope of increasing his re-election chances.

---

Perhaps most disturbing, the Obama administration addressed the issue of civilian casualties by classifying all military-age males in a strike zone as ‘terrorists’ unless, as the New York Times put it, ‘there is explicit intelligence posthumously proving them innocent’.

The problem is that in its enthusiasm to emphasise Obama’s machismo by ordering so many killer drone attacks, the White House may have gone too far. Indeed, there is growing widespread criticism of Obama’s actions across the U.S.

Satirist Stephen Colbert has mercilessly lampooned Obama’s tactics. ‘It’s brilliant!’ he said with heavy irony.

‘He doesn’t have to worry about habeas corpus, because after a drone strike, sometimes you can’t even find the corpus.

Most disturbing to me is that Obama has daughters who he thinks are made of gold.

So much love for HIS daughters .. yet how easily he pulls the trigger to kill the daughters of others whose lives were every bit as precious as his own.

BAC....you are one tough cookie.....even I think you go a little overboard.....but you're entitled to your views, as the all are....lmao

I don't thnk Rana's gonna give you kudos on that post.....

I like Rana. She could smack me upside my head and I would still like her. I must of had it coming. :0)

I like you too good brother ..

If Obama loses, democrats will have opened the gates to Hell.

They didn't say shit to Obama on his brutal foreign policy, didn't say shit to him when he was killing Americans citizens without trial, didn't say shit when Obama endorsed NDAA, didn't say shit when he attacked Libya, didn't say shit when he used Al Queda to do it, didn't say shit when he started droning Pakistan and killing more innocent people .. in short, democrats didn't say shit to Obama about anything.

Guess what?

If Romney wins .. don't say shit.

Personally all things being equal I think Romney is a better foreign policy bet than Obama. With Romeny in office the democrats can actually scream about his war policies, which the republicans can't to obama, therefore something might change. Obama won't get attacked by the majority of americans either because they're republicans and think there's no such thing as too much war, or they're liberals and can't stand the thought that Obama might be a "bad guy".

Just truthfully answer how you voted every 2 years since 2004......and don't that crap that you voted for Bush or McCain and I
would venture you didn't vote for any Republican in any of those elections.....
I've been reading your posts here the last 2 years and nothing would indicate otherwise....
you know it and I know it.....

Practice what you preach.

No, I did not vote for Bush, just as I won't vote fr Romney. It does nt mean I am a Democrat. I vote for Murkowski and even volunteered to get her re-elected. I also supported Mark Begich locally. I volunteered for the Bill Waler campaign for Governor, but voted fr an Independent or my local district. I plan on voting for Gary Johnson for President, so cracker, you don't know what you are talking about, but that is typical for you.

So you vote for women and Democrats... and didn't vote for Bush or McCain and supported then, as you defend him now, Obama, no
matter who you vote for....Voting for Johnson is the same as a vote for Obama for all practical purposes
...... no surprise there....
I know exactly what I'm talking about.....you're left-wing liberal that supports MOST Democrats, no matter who you support locally....
Locally, so many will get on a ballot for either party just to get their name on a ballot....sometimes they run on both tickets....so it means little....

And this support for Johnson is a VERY RECENT epiphany for you....

You just can't brush 2 years of your posts down the drain and claim how independent you are all of sudden....

Ahahahaha, you don't define me, I know who I am nd what I stand for and I really don't care what you think.

I have no problem discussing Iraq.

Obama did not end the war in Iraq. The Status of Forces Agreement did .. AND, Obama tried to extend the withdrawal beyond the date set by the SOFA.

Pakistan: Obama took the drone program FAR beyond what Bush was doing with it. Obama's drones are at the center of rising anti-americanism and protests all over the world. He's killing far more innocent people than actual terrorists. He's killed about 200 innocent children and lots of innocent women.

What Obama is doing in Pakistan is unquestionably to the right of George Bush.

Libya: Obama did exactly what Bush did and used lies and a false pretext to seek regime change in a peaceful and propeprous nation that posed NO threat to the US.

Guantanamo: Need I say more?

Iran: Same policies as Bush.

Africa: Obama has drones flying all over Africa, Bush did not. The US is currently operating a covert war throughout northern Africa. All out war against Mali is next.

Afghanistan: Same policies as Bush. In fact, Obama doubled down on the Bush policy and employed the Bush surge, which did nothing byt get a lot of people killed.

Can I mention NDAA and killing American citizens without trial?

To the second part of my comment about those who screamed at Bush but won't say shit about Obama's wars .. surely you're not going to challenge that.

I don't really feel like defending Obama here. I disagree with the "more right-wing" than Bush comment, but since I disagree with Obama on a lot of foreign policy stuff I just don't have the will to argue why he's better than Bush on some of these issues.

Hard to argue with that. But the problem for democrats who come out of the woodwork to be all antiwar again is that nobody is going to listen to them. They've lost the moral high ground. Whatever screaming they do about war from this point is going to be seen as purely partisan .. which it will be.

Republicans have never met a war they didn't like .. so the antiwar voice in America now belongs to third parties.

Graham, McCain and Liarman are beating the war drums in Congress, again. Romney is elected there is no doubt we will become more deeply embroiled in all the crap that is going on in the Middle East. I see more war in our future if the Republicans gains control. It is the biggest reason I will vote for Johnson. No more war. There is a report out today that weapons we have sold the Saudis are showing up in Syria. We are fools and we will pay the price for our greed.

Ahahahaha, you don't define me, I know who I am nd what I stand for and I really don't care what you think.

Of course you're right, I don't 'define' you.....your words and posts on this site define you here only....and we all our perceptions of how we see other posters by
what they say....and how they say it...
If I've made some assumptions about your political slant that you don't agree with, so be it....that will only evolve with how you address issues and who show
agreement with........

Democrat is a party affiliation, not a political ideology. It has given us many presidents, congressmen, and ideologues over the past two centuries, and it long ago began the destruction of the American Republic, beginning with Jackson.
