It looks like the move paid off for the Republicans. They didn't vote on Garland but will most likely vote to confirm Kavanaugh. How is that eating shit? Sounds like they were rewarded.

Ford is doing the right thing. the FBI should investigate. There are women coming out who said they heard the stories about it back then. Kavanaugh wants a quick vote to stop the info from arriving. Repubs are happy to jam it through. Justice, truth and the American way are of no interest to them.

The right thing is to wait a week and have the stories checked. It is a lifetime job, so a week would not hurt him.

No, I never made the argument that the appointment should wait until after the election (you are thinking of Biden). I only said if Garland did not have the votes for confirmation it would be a waste of time to hold hearings and then vote against his confirmation.

If the Senate votes for confirmation before the election or before the new Congress takes office in January and then the Republicans keep the Senate, you will support Kavanaugh's appointment since the people were heard and elections have consequences, correct?

He was never accused of rape. Whatever happens in November would be the same with or without Kavanaugh's confirmation. It will be like 2016 which had the highest percentage of straight ticket voters since 1913.
