This thread USAID thing started because of Musk uncovering corruption. USAID today, Dept of Education, Defense Department, SS, and a host of others will be in line for a audit/trimming.Yes, but this thread is about USAID.
Apparently Elon Musk."within the Executive branch of Government".
Who is the elected Chief Executive?

Sen down this road already, it was created via a EO, but Congress established USAID as an independent entity, and last anyone knew, Congress, not the Executive Branch controls the spendingand saying that Trump doesn't have the authority, I ask you one question. Find me one statute where these words exist as it pertains to USAID. "We establish USAID as an agency of............."
No such words exist anywhere. It was never a duly created office by Congress. It was created by Executive Order. It was "allowed" by Congress, but that is different than saying it had to be created. JFK just chose to take advantage of it and every succeeding President did as well. President Trump is within his power to dismantle it as he sees fit.
Now, unless Congress acts, in four years if there is a demalquedacrat back in Office, with a stroke of a pen, they can recreate it and those in MAGA will have nothing to say. That is how it works.
Enjoy

Yes but the executive branch can't eliminate agencies created by statute. Only the legislature can do that. There are laws requiring all those agencies to report to Congress every year and requiring they publish their goals. Those laws do not go away simply because Trump is President."within the Executive branch of Government".

Cite the bill that established USAIDCongress passes bills to establish agencies. They are law. Trump does not have the power to stop whatever he feels like. That is the checks and balances. Trump is trying to destroy that. He wants to be a king.
OKYes, but this thread isn't dedicated to those topics. Start another thread (or a series of threads) in order to inflict maximum distress on the lefties, please.
Which is exactly why Trump is hitting them with a new and different "outrage" at least once a day. They fail to keep up. Just look at the titles of OP's on this forum alone. As our glorious leader has demonstrated, they don't handle multi-pronged attacks well.![]()
Cjte the statute. And let's say he can't eliminate citr where it has to be funded.Yes but the executive branch can't eliminate agencies created by statute. Only the legislature can do that. So it appears"Under the policy guidance of the Secretary of State, the agency primarily responsible for administering subchapter I of this chapter should have the responsibility for coordinating all United States development-related activities."

22 U.S. Code § 2151 - Congressional findings and declaration of policy

That appears to mean that the Secretary of State is empowered to guide its policies, does it not?
Therefore, Secretary Rubio could step in ... right?
It's amazing how stupid and blind people like you are. Read this post that you seemed to be unable to read the first time.Cjte the statute. And let's say he can't eliminate citr where it has to be funded.
As to the rest of what you are asking, read title 5Of course no such statute exists using those exact words because the Government doesn't create statutes based on their acronym. It uses the actual name of the agency.
Title 22
§6563. Status of AID

Unless abolished pursuant to the reorganization plan submitted under section 6601 of this title, and except as provided in section 6562 of this title, there is within the Executive branch of Government the United States Agency for International Development as an entity described in section 104 of title 5.
