Florida principal fired after display of Statute of David.

Tell me what there is more to this story?

Florida education is being destroyed because our teachers are terrified to teach.
Multiple issues apparently

In a call with HuffPost, Bishop emphasized that the nude sculpture incident was one of multiple issues with Carrasquilla. He declined to go into specifics, citing advice from the school’s employment lawyers.

Indeed, TOP,

“On Thursday, the Tallahassee Democrat reported that the principal of a local charter school, the Tallahassee Classical School, was forced to resign after three parents complained about an art teacher showing a picture of Michelangelo’s 16th-century sculpture of David. “Parental rights are supreme, and that means protecting the interests of all parents, whether it’s one, 10, 20 or 50,” the chair of the school’s board, Barney Bishop III, told the paper. To figure out exactly how this happened, I called Bishop, who is also, according to his biography, a consultant, a lobbyist, an “outspoken advocate for the free enterprise system,” and an Eagle Scout. Our conversation has been edited for clarity.”

"The Tallahassee school is a public charter institution that focuses on classical learning, a teaching philosophy centered on a traditional Western liberal arts education"

But you're not allowed to show classical Renaissance art!

But you're not allowed to show classical Renaissance art!

Here's what they CLAIM to be:

'The current context is about moral values, civic values, personal responsibility. Those are the things that aren’t being taught in schools.'

LOL. In other words, Puritan values.

But you're not allowed to show classical Renaissance art!

Classical learning, a teaching philosophy centered on a traditional Western liberal arts education does not include showing genitalia to six year olds...as the principal found out.

Think there might be more to the story? Have you moved out of DeSantisland yet?

Apparently there was a fuckup somewhere and the parents didn't get the letter. The principal apparently took responsibility.

It still begs the question... Why would parents go apeshit over a statue? The kids have seen artworks and statues of nude humans.

Oh for crying out loud. I remember looking at that when I was in grade school. We had a set of Encyclopedia Britannica that had lots of photos of classical sculpture and art. There were breasts and packages and behinds galore.

It's arguably western civilization's greatest work of art, and I did not know MAGA dudes invested a lot of energy into thinking about the penis.

More from the school board representative. It all makes sense now:

'We don’t have safe spaces for kids so they won’t be offended by a Halloween costume. We don’t use pronouns. We teach them phonics. We teach Singapore math. They learn to speak Latin. Every student learns a musical instrument. And by the way, a large number of our students are Title I, from poor families, underprivileged families. It’s not just rich white people. We don’t even pick our students; it’s a lottery. The mission of the school shows that standards are important—even poor people have standards.'

EVEN POOR PEOPLE HAVE STANDARDS.

Wow, could this jackass get more offensive?

It's chiseled stone, not genitalia.

If the first thing your eye is drawn to is the penis, I'd say the problem is with you. Taken as a whole, that statue is the finest example of sculpture in human history.
