They're called "communicable diseases" because... well, smart people can figure that one out.

Even if you don't care about yourself or your kids, I would hope that you'd care about the people around you who are elderly, have an autoimmune disease, have cancer. But then, if you don't care about yourself and your own children, for sure you don't give a shit about anyone else.

Low income/poor people who lack health care insurance and/or access are far less likely to have their kids vaccinated if it isn't mandatory. Ironically this includes both the urban poor (who tend to be Black/Hispanic) and the rural poor (who tend to be mostly White).

So once again the GOP strategy is to sacrifice the poor to benefit the well-off. Oh, and the stupid among their own base. Great plan!

Kennedy was one of the key factors in the Samoa measles outbreak that killed 83 people. 76 of them were under age 15.

That sounds bad, but not that bad, until you realize there are only about a quarter of a million people in Samoa, and they were only at the beginning of losing herd immunity. In America, it would be thousands of times worse.

The last Polio case in the USA was in 1993, over 30 years ago, and was imported from abroad. The last Polio infection in the USA was in 1979, which was almost half a century ago. We had nearly wiped Polio out in the wild, and were going to had Covid, and now trump not got in the way.

If you hate Polio vaccines, the solution is to eliminate it from the wild. We eliminated Smallpox from the wild, and now no one gets Smallpox vaccines.

Some vaccines work, others aren't worth it. NONE should be required.

Covid does not cause cancer. Covid does not kill. I cannot prevent people from being exposed to a virus, bacteria, or fungi.
