Florida plans to become first state to eliminate all childhood vaccine mandates

Yeah, now that you mention it, I do recall that ventilator thing.

That was his first and most grave mistake when mishandling the pandemic -- he politicized it. The virus didn't care what political flavor you were; it infected indiscriminately. But instead of seeing it as our common enemy and rallying the nation to figh tit and protect each other, the bumbling ball of blubber made it into a red-blue football.

And we all lost.

True. Not only was the #OrangeMenace putting out conflicting misinformation, he was also threatening blue states with witholding medical equipment like vents, remember that? Future students of epidemiology will be studying 2020 as how NOT to handle a public health emergency.
Funny I remember the President of the United State Trump 1.0 parking a 1000 bed hospital ship in the Blue State of New York in New York city harbor and making it available to COVID patients.

Sad but true, the goal.. make the poor less likely to be able to improve their situation, so the wealthy can cement status for generations, regardless of the competency of their children.
The VFC (Vaccines For Children) Program gives vaccines for free to poor under or non insured kids. Most if not all Public Health department also give out free vaccinations.

A child is eligible for the VFC Program if they are younger than 19 years of age and are one of the following: Uninsured, Medicaid-eligible or Medicaid-enrolled, American Indian or Alaska Native, or Under insured

That's why Schools... And the community sometimes just like your mom did... god bless her.... get involved and help out in cases like you mention... It's been that way for as long as I can remember....
My mom was a teacher at a school that served a very poor area of our town. Her students were poor kids for the most part. She frequently bought school supplies for her students out of her own pocket. I remember her buying Big Chief paper tablets, Crayons and pencil by the box full to give to her students.

Yep. I also remember the press conference where he said “we have this under control in a couple weeks” or where he wondered publicly about some sort of subdural bleaching or UV treatment.

God bless her, especially as an elementary teacher...my mom taught preschool and elementary...my dad, HS...
I always knew I was much better suited to teach and coach the older kids...just from all the experience watching their careers....;)
(My first and second schools are now history....razed to build low income housing and expand Nationwide Children's Hospital.... My HS? still a very proud "HBH" in the system...still low income neighborhood, but, as with everything, expansion happening all around it...;)). I am just loving all the change taking place...
