Florida book bans - the first step before burning

The good teachers are running for the doors. There is a reason that Florida is doing so badly in teacher retention, especially in retaining the best teachers. A year from now, they will be much worse.

The facts just do not agree with you. I doubt you are a teacher, and I doubt you ever were a licensed teacher.

A good teacher would never run for the door... and when it comes to my teaching career and my licensing you're simply wrong... what "facts" do not "agree with me"? I don't think that you know any special ed teachers and that may be part of the problem...

no.

shitty pedo teachers are running for the doors.

good. go be sick freaks alone somewhere.

Great teachers ..especially tbose who've been in the classroom for a long time...are used to dealing with "changes" that come down from the administration.... and the government... they deal with it and they'll deal with it this time... if a student wants one of the books from the covered HS book shelves they're going to get it and no one is going to arrest the teacher...doubtful that they are even "written up"...) New teachers should know there are going to be challenges...always... they'll stick with it if teaching is truly their passion.... they'll leave the profession if it's not and that won't be any great loss...

do you think vax mandates are running good employees out of anywhere?

I would assume it is very rare. The anti-vaxxers do not seem to be the best and the brightest. You might be able to find an example here or there, but I am willing to bet there are far more examples of terrible employees that the organization is happy to be rid of.

What I am noticing about this economy, if you have a skill, you have jobs. The tech workers that got laid off, are getting jobs in a week that can pay up to twice as much. MacDonalds workers are getting paid $50 an hour, and Dairy Queen workers are getting paid $32 an hour. Those are extreme cases, but not unheard of. It works on both ends of the spectrum, you just have to be willing to work, and have some sort of skill.

Then there are the people who got by on being white men, but were unwilling to work, and had no skill. They are having it tough. They are complaining that it is no fair they can't smoke in their office, or whatever. And honestly, everyone is better off with them gone.

your assumptions follow the general tenor of your discourse: They're idiotic.

Half of America is in a very dark time.

Willingly so. You can choose to let the doom-and-gloom of Reichwing media seep into your pores. Or you can look for actual, factual reporting that paints an entirely different picture. Those who choose to dwell in the darkness prefer it that way.

the hospital is in the wrong.

don't you believe in law and order?

the state and the nurses should join together in a class action suit against those anti-science hospitals.

vax mandates = also illegal.

Hopefully the next time you need surgery or a physical examination, you'll demand that the health care provider(s) take off any PPE they've got on, including gloves and masks. Put your money where your dumbass mouth is! lol

they are fine in the Operating room. im still for that.

they are not necessary at all times or in all places in the hospital.

real science has nuance, you troglodytic harpy.

You are correct. From Report details teacher shortages by state

The 11 states in Group 1 have the clearest vacancies. Florida leads the nation with nearly 4,000 unfilled teaching positions for the 2021–22 school year, followed by Illinois with 1,703 and Arizona with 1,699. The remaining states in this group are Utah, Missouri, Nebraska, Minnesota, Colorado, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Oklahoma.

She wasn't. BTW, many states are offering incentives for actual retired teachers to return to the empty classrooms. Florida is one of them. FL is even trying to entice retired military vets to apply.

MIAMI, Sept 13 (Reuters) - So many Florida teachers have abandoned their profession in recent years that the state is inviting military veterans with no prior teaching experience to lead classrooms while they earn education credentials.

Elsewhere across the United States as school resumed this August and September, districts have beamed virtual teachers into classrooms from several states away and offered bonuses to lure back retirees.

But when teachers find out they will have to spend a unpaid week every year begging to bring books into the school, with the possibility of going to prison if anything goes wrong, I am sure the teachers will rush to fill jobs

Yes, that is SARCASM.

Ron DeSantis is still riding on Trump's White Supremacist coattails, but that may blow up in his face when it comes to garnering votes in a national election. Most Americans dislike Nazis, White Supremacists and other haters.

The present tactic seems to be for Florida's far Right leadership to pass vague laws then threaten or selectively prosecute teachers for violating the law and/or abusing children. Due to low pay, most teachers can't afford defending themselves in court so they simply remove all and any books that could violate the law as interpreted by RW wackadoodles.

There is no ban list, just the power of the State to threaten the freedom of teachers and their livelihood. This is more insidious than simply producing a banned list of books like the Torah, the Quran and Catcher in the Rye because it intimidates teachers and school administrations to simply get rid of anything that might be controversial. The effect will be a generation of ignorant Floridian voters who won't be able to compete with better educated Americans. In the end, Florida will become dumber and poorer in the quest to make Florida white again.

Whenever you have said that DeathSentence will be the front-runner in '24, I told you that he plays well in trump's home state of Florida, but not on the national stage.

I have a strong feeling that he suffers similar delusions to trump's. He needs help. From the moment he raided that girls house because she refused to hide Covid stats, to Disney, to racist educational guidelines...it seems he's ready for a padded cell.

White GOP Men and African Americans: The Two Lingering Vaccination Holdouts

There are two key demographics of Americans who are particularly hesitant or reluctant to get vaccinated against COVID-19: White Republican men and African Americans.

An article from two years ago? Really, that's your "proof"? Bwahahahahaha!

Something still dated but at least more recent (June 2022)

"Asian and non-Hispanic White adults had the highest COVID-19 vaccination coverage by the end of April 2021. By the end of November 2021, disparities in vaccination coverage for some racial and ethnic groups narrowed, and coverage was similar for non-Hispanic Black (78.2%), Hispanic (81.3%), Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander (75.7%), and non-Hispanic White (78.7%) adults."

so you agree vaccine hesitancy is not a white male problem.

thanks.
