The economy under Trump pre-COVID was a farce, a facade, fake. Sure, all the numbers looked great with the exception of a GIANT OOPS in the FEDERAL DEBT. (That's a big oops.) Sure, an economy does better when government THROWS MONEY AT IT. That is exactly what the tax cut did. By not collecting enough revenue to even pay for the government, it is a false farce of an economy built on growing government debt. Thowing money at the already-rich, that's what it is. You can't continue to pile on federal debt forever. Taxes have to be high enough to pay for the government. If you cut taxes too low, then government takes on debt. That's not sustainable. Sure, it looks good for a while if you never look at the federal debt. What happened to all those Republican deficit hawks who railed constantly about the debt under Obama? What happened to them when Trump took on even more debt? Not a peep. They all flew south for the winter, and never came back.

Obama had to take on debt to deal with the crashed economy he inherited. He was responsible. As soon as the economy got stable again, the deficit was being reduced because taxes were high enough to pay for the government. Trump cut taxes too much, cut the revenue, and the debt exploded - and that was pre-COVID. Irresponsible!

It is completely irresponsible to cut taxes when the economy is already doing well. That is when you have to service the debt. That is the ONLY time you have a strong enough economy to reduce the debt. You certainly can't do it during a recession. It has to be done when the economy is doing well. The economy was doing well when Trump took office. He signed off on a totally irresponsible tax cut that was not needed. And it screwed us all. Now the debt is way up there.

Yes, of course taxes will have to be raised. That's the responsible thing to do. It's paying for what you got. It's time for the rich to pay. They 'all got a lot richer' (famous Mar-A-Lago quote from Trump) so now it's time for THE RICH to pay down the federal debt.



No Democrat has ever said they want 'no borders, no walls.' Nothing but more Republican propaganda. Show us the quote. Where is any Democrat who EVER said they want 'no borders, no walls?' You have no such quote. It's just made up baloney. Pure BS.
