Hello Dutch,
Wow. That's some good reading, there. I got into it for a while and realized I am going to have to come back to it.
It's very devious, the way radicalism spreads.
It is important for people to understand that we should all identify as Americans and as humans on planet Earth. All other people are our fellow citizens and inhabitants. (It's just that some of them, you can't talk to or interface with because they are not receptive.) When looking out across America, it is important to see a fantastic country, full of life, with ample opportunity. See the good. Recognize the good. Deal with the bad, try to turn it to good. We are all connected by this great country. Individuals should ask what contribution they can make to America.
Most Americans want what is best for America, it's just that some of them rarely consider what that actually is, and how it might not always benefit themselves immediately. Everybody wants instant gratification.
Some individuals are unable to visualize these macro concepts. They are far too susceptible to peer pressure. They just need to expand their we/they thinking into the 'we' being all Americans, with all the diverse views included.
Good views or positions are ones that benefit the most Americans and preserve the best future. Positions which only benefit a few, and are not forward-looking, are not beneficial. Racism and supremacy are not good!
Too many people are only thinking of themselves. Selfishness does not build a lasting country.
It's pretty deep reading. IMO, it mostly boils down to people being susceptible to such ideas due to low intelligence, poor education or mental issues.
A normal person is unlikely to be radicalized by the likes of Charlie Manson. A normal person is more likely to report someone like him rather than idolize him like the people who are attracted to cults.
