Final Day of the Worst Week Ever

I don’t mind being real. I just want to be real sure that what we are hearing from the left is real or just politics (never allow a crisis to be wasted).

The pandemic panic was promulgated by pessimistic projections promoted by partisans pushing politically-motivated propaganda.

Here we are. Three weeks (at least, depending upon where you are) into what amounts to house arrest.

Stores are told what products they can and cannot sell.

A father has been handcuffed and arrested for playing with his daughter in a deserted park.

People are being fined for walking on vacant beaches.

Businesses have been shuttered.

The economy has been trashed. Our concept of civil liberties and the permissible use of the state’s police power have been irrevocably moved in the direction of totalitarianism.

There is literally no end in sight.

So it is fair to ask how we got here.

In a word: models.

The Wuhan virus frenzy really began in earnest when Neil Ferguson published the results of a simulation he’d run on the public health impact of the virus.

In it he predicted that some 2 million Americans would die from the virus.

The impact of this paper can’t be overstated. The British and Dutch governments were stampeded from pursuing what amounted to a “ride it out” strategy (which, in my view, was the only strategy even vaguely related to either science or common sense) into throwing the emergency brake on economic activity.

Once one model was accepted, other proliferated.

Perhaps the most notable one has been that from the Institution for Health Metrics and Evaluation. This one, like the non-factual Imperial College model, has produced Doomsday results that led to panicked governors believing they had to ‘do something’ by shutting down most economic activity.

These models have one unifying feature.

They were all wildly and spectacularly implausible and are all being proven wildly and spectacularly wrong on a daily basis.



They are also all being promoted by a DEMOCRAT-run website (https://covidactnow.org/) that bombards state, county and local governments with scary "data" on a daily basis to prolong the panic for political purposes.

There is no defense for what has happened here.

Academics, with zero responsibility or sense of decency, attempted to further their own careers by creating a public health Armageddon via highly publicized simulations.

The models don’t seem to work even retrospectively, and they certainly have zero predictive value.

Gutless politicians — and I hope, for our sake that they are gutless because were they stupid enough to take these simulations seriously it would call into question their ability to live outside a psychiatric facility — felt compelled to ‘do something’ based on the press howling about the results of the models.

No push-back against the models was even attempted…because DEMOCRATS have a twofold agenda.
 
If you want to see,if staying in place works,look at Ohio and Michigan.
Ohio's Governor was out in front of this,Michigan waited.Michigan is in far worse shape than Ohio.
I'd like to see the border between Toledo and Detroit restricted

Obama is trying to lend some legitimacy to the concept of voting by mail.

Obama tweeted a copy of a Blue York Crimes article entitled, “Does Vote-by-Mail Favor DEMOCRATS? No. It’s a False Argument by Trump.”

Obama’s caption? “Let’s not use the tragedy of a pandemic to compromise our democracy. Check the facts of vote by mail.”

Does Obama have any idea how disingenuous he sounds?

The article says that “leading experts” who have studied voting by mail have told the Crimes that it does not favor Democrats. Oh, well then, if "experts" said it, it must be true.

According to the Crimes: As with false claims by Republicans about vote-by-mail fraud, there is no evidence to back up the argument from the right that all-mail elections favor DEMOCRATS. But Mr. Trump and some of his allies are warning that vote-by-mail poses an existential threat to their party, in hopes of galvanizing Republican opposition to a voting method that is widely seen as safer than in-person voting in the era of the coronavirus.

America is the most open, the freest country on earth.

We are a society that depends on freedom of movement.

The “remain in place” of society has been mandated in most states.

Because of our freedoms, there are millions who can not remain in place...the doctors, nurses, police, firemen, ambulance drivers, the food and food transport industry and on and on.

The spread of the virus from China that China failed to contain was inevitable.

The Democrats should get off the wagon and start pushing it.

What was going on in America when the virus was starting in China?

Impeachment and endless, useless investigations by the DEMOCRATS.

The real Americans who elected President Trump will re-elect him in Nov.
