Waaaay back in the day in kindergarten we all learned one Truth that has followed us throughout our lives. "Life is sometimes not fair"...
Lia Thomas is free to compete as a male, they went through puberty as a male gaining all the physical advantages. The issue here is the "most fair" resolution. It is "most fair" to make it fair for the folks who went through puberty as females, there are far more of them. Star Trek taught us one thing that really makes sense: The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.
I get that this "isn't fair", that Lia should be able to transition into womanhood all she wants to... but we also know that reality sometimes intervenes and provides problems that cannot be overcome, those advantages she gained through going through puberty as a male are very real and extremely unfair. To be "fair" to the most people we must be "unfair" to Lia. We will participate in your transition, recognize you are female, etc. but fairness will not allow you to participate in sport as a woman where the physical attributes give you too much of an unnatural advantage.

I can't support the unfair physical advantage a man's body has over a female body.

Then you truly don’t support them. There was a young trans girl they interviewed on TV who stated, all she wanted to do was be who she was and participate in her sport. It was heart wrenching. It’s such a small percentage of athletes, we should let them compete.

Males have a physical advantage, has nothing to do with sexual orientation.
The trans girl,can compete in her sport as a male.

I personally think these surgeries to pretend to be what you're not is mutilation.

Do you have a link to this interview? How old was this athlete? When I was coaching we often combined male and female events to fill up the lanes... However the results were separate... There were winners in the male lanes and winners in the female lanes... So if participation is the only important thing then give that swimmer a lane... But the time should not affect the official results... And no one should lose a spot to that swimmer or runner...or cyclist... Or weightlifter etc... That would pose a problem... Or it would have in the past... Swimmers should be fine now... Hopefully other sports will follow....

Competition is fierce... These kids train their whole lives... And just a tiny percentage are good enough to get to the elite level...They should never ever have to be excluded...or lose... because a biological male has been allowed to compete... I'm not sure how or why anyone could disagree with that...
