It's closer to the gas price speculators in 2008 with one big exception: The Reddit Gamestop fans aren't trying to make money. They're just trying to fuck over the Wall Street assholes who shorted Gamestop.....and the fans are winning. LOL

Wall Street hedge fund managers were looking for a quick profit so they shorted Gamestop, a company swirling around the drain. Lots of Reddit fans are also Gamestop fans so, like the young people who fucked over Trump by reserving tickets at Tulsa, the Reddit fans began buying up Gamestop stock thus driving up the price of Gamestop. This put those who shorted the stock in a $5 BILLION bind.

It's hilarious. Eventually the stock will come down from its artificial high, but probably not before Wall Street assholes have to pay up.
