Sorry, I didn't think I said something stupid, Catholics aren't Christians the same way Unitarians aren't, although they are both considered Christian-based theology. Jews are also not Christians. That's not "stupid" to say, it's the actual truth. If you disagree with me, that's your prerogative, but there is no need in calling me names here. More often than not, we are on the same side, and this thread conversation was about Sharia, Islam, and how they are nothing at all like Christianity in their treatment of women. Either you have something to add to that, or you don't, I don't need a debate with you over what is or isn't considered a 'Christian' in your mind.

So, Christianity is only 500 years old, then?![]()
Gee, I've been Catholic all my life and the only thing that I've ever been taught to follow is Jesus.
Dixie and DS should have a debate over this. Southern Power!!!!!!!!!
Even though I do not share any faith I was absolutely gobsmacked to see those words.
Do you know anything of the history of Christianity? Those we call Catholics or Roman Catholics belong, not to some non-christian faith, but they are the most substantial part of the entire christian faith. From your point of view the RC church is YOUR religious history unless you claim descent from a different stem.
Upon this rock, etc. That was Peter, unless, of course, you know different.
I understand a great deal about the history of the Roman Catholic Church. I realize at one time, ALL Christians were Catholic, in fact, that is a word which directly relates to that fact, Catholicism is the original Christian faith. However, for nearly a century, there were massive reform movements, and Christianity, particularly, Protestant Christianity came of age. I made a rather bold and bombastic comment that Catholics aren't Christians, because in light of what Protestant Christians believe, they aren't. I do realize this is cause for great discountenance to many a Catholic, but there is a fundamental principle of Christian faith that can't be rectified, Catholics hold most sacred, the Papal Roman See.. (The Pope), The Holy Roman Church, and the Blessed Mother Mary. Christians hold most sacred, Jesus Christ, the living Son of God. Christians are given salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, Catholics are given salvation through confessionals and following rituals and traditional customs. Christianity teaches the only way to salvation is through Christ, not through a confessional window. Redemption comes through confessing your sins to God through Jesus, not through a Priest. So you see, there are distinct differences between Catholic faith and Protestant Christian faith, Catholics are not Christians.

To be a christian, as far as I am aware, is not confined to worshipping Jesus, Mary or Mary's dog. It is about emulating, as far as one is able, the philosophy of Jesus and his buddies.
You dummy. Christians don't worship anyone other than God. Jesus is God, Mary is not a god....

That's not true....Catholics hold most sacred, the Papal Roman See.. (The Pope), The Holy Roman Church, and the Blessed Mother Mary. ...
actually, they have a significant edge over the Unitarians, because they believe there is such a thing as a "Christ".....
how can a denial that Jesus is the Christ be a Christian belief?.......if that's true atheism, a denial of God, is also a Christian belief.....
do you agree that Unitarians deny the deity of Jesus?......

drop it Dixie......its a stupid claim and you will never win this argument......trust me.....
As a former member of a Unitarian Church I can tell you that they do not deny such a thing as a "Christ"!
